30k is hardly diff "lock" IMO. I'm using Traxxas 100k in my MBX5, and it still retains some diff action. Of course it depends on what kind of vehicle this is going in - heavy vehicle will need thicker oil to lock (or at least not be so loose) than a lighter one.

It is for a cen matrix truggy - Ben started looking for 120k but I think too much for a truggy so suggested 30k which is why I think he edited the thread...

correct

If you get 100k (or whatever) you can always mix some looser stuff to get something less than that. This will tell you what proportions to mix to get the viscocity you want. Just remember that the highest viscocity you can get will be no higher than the thickest one you have, and the lowest viscocity you can get will be no lower than the thinnest one you have. I guess it depends on what you have already...

only have 10k

BrianG 10.10.2008 05:17 PM

Well, you can get 30k, but if you still find it too loose, you gotta get something else. I would get something much thicker and mix them. Allows you to experiment without having 30 bottles laying around...
