crt.5 bashing tires choice

I am to build my crt.5 and i will mainly bash with them. But after a close look at A Main Hobbies, the tires choice is relatively limited in this categorie of vehicule.
Lot of racing tires but no one for bashing.

I would like to have a badland style tire for 1/10 rear buggy wheel. Or paddle or something better than Losi step pin or proline bowties.

Thank you for your help!

David

Slash tires are decent for bashing. 1/10 buggy tires are generally for a 2.2 rim so you would be all set. Traxxas bandit wheels work.

are you saying that any 2.2 traxxas wheel will fit the crt .5? with no mod

Yes because the crt.5 has 12mm hex, and traxxas wheel (front/rear electric rustler and rear nitro rustler) have 12mm hex too.

But i want to keep it on scale and do not want to put 1/10 truck tire on it.

ok I see...so any 1/10 2.2 bandid tire would work like even 2.2 anacondas for on road....so what would be a good all around tire be?

I think that i'll not having choice and must go with 1/10 truck tire, so i have make a choice, this will be this tire:

This tire have 4" diameter, so noomuch more than stock crt.5 at 3.5", and the width is the same at 1.9"

With Traxxas chrome 2.2 rustler wheel.

I've ever have them on a jato brushless and it's like run on the ice, absolutly no grip at all:wink:
This one is very agressive, i've try it on a losi xx-nt nitro and it was a blast to drive with this tire;http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDT93&P=7

Gladiators.

david lamontagn 10.11.2008 09:19 PM

Yep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Gladiator is not to bad too, i' ve ever try it, and on very loose it's good. But if it's too hard, very not good:wink:

So far I like the slash tires best for all around, even though they are 1/10 truck tires they don't look bad on it. The Bandit anacondas are great on road tires, although the rounded tread surface doesn't put as much tread on the ground it also allows the truck to slide without flipping.

Do you have a pic of the CRT .5 with Slash tires?

rschoi_75 10.26.2008 03:09 PM

I like gladiators as well. That's what I'm currently using. Good for most any surface. They do suffer on hard packed dry surfaces when new, but get better as they wear down.

I plan on putting 30 series Torque wheels with Badlands on my future CRT once Mike gets his new Chassis in stock. They're 5" so it'll give another 1/2" of ground clearance, just gotta gear down a little to handle the larger tires. I use these wheels/tires on my Rustler and they are the best!
