Medusa 60mm 2000kv in a Rustler??

Any reason this won't work well? With the revo 40 tooth spur gear, a 24 tooth pinion, on 3S lipo. The speed calulator says it will be about 54mph. Are there any other problems that I'm not seeing? My Rustler is a little heavy with the FLM chassis and as much as 4S lipo (so far), so I'm thinking of taking the 60mm medusa out of my revo to put in the rustler and buying an 80mm for the revo. Any thoughts?

It will have plenty of power, but I see no reason it would not work for you.

That's gonna be seriously overpowerd Rustler :)

It is only 2WD. You will not have any traction at all:mdr:

Thanks for the quick replies guy's. That is exactly what I was shooting for, a way over powered car. It shouild be fun.

Any suggestions as to what kv 80mm motor for the revo? I really don't know which would be better. Stick with the 2000kv or change it up a bit.

I had zero degree arm mounts made for my overpowered FLM rustler.
Should go bananas with the Medusa.

zero degree as in zero rear toe? I'm not sure if I understood that right. I'm planning on ordering aluminum bulkheads tonight, should I look for anything spicific? I've got a FLM chasis I was just going to get their bulkheads. thanks

I wouls stick with the 2000kv and just gear it up if you want it to go faster. That should be a very potent motor...

Yes, as in zero degree toe in. I use to have the 1 degree toe in, but I launch better with zero degrees. The FLM ones can take one hell of a beating, but I needed something stronger, so a meatier 7075 arm mount was made for me. Just got the replacement 1 degree arms mounts in from FLM, which now I'm not sure if I'll use or not.
I like the FLM bulkhead, as it's cheaper to replace if you break it(broke mine once). I haven't broken it since I got the FLM upper chassis to complete my setup.

Thanks, I think thats what I'm going to do. If it just doesn't work well in the Revo, I think it will be perfect in my e-raze st truggy.

FLM bulkheads, steering parts, and upper chassis are all on my list for tonight. Along with the FLM trans case and revo/ jato slipper setup.
Thanks for the tips.

Both trucks will be absolutely INSANE with those motors. Why not a 70mm Medusa in the E-revo?

Only reason I went with the 80mm over the 70mm was that I'm going to put this motor into the e-raze and I think that it might be a better choice for the heavier truggy. And I may have gotten bitten by the bigger is better bug when I was at medusa's order screen. lol

If this motor works well and I have no problems with the 60mm either I probably will get a 70mm for the revo.

Does anyone (Mike??) know by any chance if the duratrax center diff mounts are the same or similar to any other manufactures out there? I want to buy a electric motor mount but haven't found one for the Raze yet.

Have fun man! There's no such thing as too much when it comes to power:
