1/10 4wd buggy esc

Ill be using it in the Lazer zx-5 ive given up on selling, with a 5700 castle motor with 5000mah stick packs.....only has to run for 7-8 minutes, and wil be geared for low 33-34 mph, so to the question will the sidewinder work or should i get another MM ? space is VERY limited in these cars so the smaller the better and i was thinking the sidewinder was phiscally smaller.

also price is a big part i dont wanna spend more than what a new sidewinder cost. so id have to get a used mm that no telling what has been done to it :oh:

so who runs what? ive never even driven a mm on anything less than 3s so i dunno how it would do?

A Sidewinder should run fine in there with that gearing.

2s I think a SW would be fine...

Sidewinder should be no problem.

The sidewinder is a really good esc for the money. I have run a few with very hot 3s pede setups, and in a few crawlers. The bec is not very good for a crawler running 3s, but you should be fine with stick packs and a 5700. Can't beat the price!

Sidewinder will be perfect for your buggy

i grabed a sidewinder off skellyo and the 5700 off of rchippie, im stripping the little buggy right now to redo the diffs, new spur, rebuild the shocks and put new sealed wheel bearings and new holeshot LP m3's on kyosho yellow dishes.....

thanks for the input guys ill post some pics when im done and get her tested out.

btw will the acccelration still be really quick using the nimh stick pack or what should i expect...

It'd probably be good. I doubt you'll get wheelies though.

rootar 10.15.2008 11:05 AM

i dont want wheelies lol i have enough rear diff trouble as it is, im trying new different lock nuts on the diff bolt this time, and starting with new balls and pressure plates..

i just want it to be fairly quick so itll get around the track good and not be TOO fast for my gf to drive it when she wants.

I am running a sidewinder/5700 in my ZX-5. The esc is more than capable. 5700 on 2s is really all I need on the track (though is still get's a little hot). On 3s it's ballistic for speed runs on asphalt.
