Shopping for a new balancer. Suggestions?

I just shorted out a second apache 505 balancer. This time it was a friends. Break it upgrade it. So I was shopping for another balancer that I could use while charging. The apache is only good up to 3a so I never used it while charging. Mike has a couple listed this one that is good up to 10amps

and this one which is up good up to 6amps

I had to shop around for a balance tap adapter to get my Flightpower to work with the apache balancer. Found one but it had no instructions as to use it. That was the first apache I shorted out. I marked the connectors so it wouldn't happen again. Except I didn't mark the other 4s connector that came with the second apache I bought for a friend.

Here's the line up that it would be used with

SB989
TrueRC 2s2p 6400's
Maxamps 2s2p 6000's
TrueRC 3s1p 4000's
TrueRC 2s2p 8000's
FP EVO 4s 5000
and newest team member
Zippy 4s 5000

Any other balancers out there that I should consider? I need to buy two of them so looking for the best buy. Thoughts on the ones I have listed. Having not had the best experience with adapters for these things. Would the TrakPower balancer need an adapter for the other packs? Thanks for the help.

I would go with the hyperion lba 10 balancer, and buy the adapter boards to fit the various different balancing taps you have. I have both the lba 10 and the v balancer, and the old apache. The apache is crap, I cooked 3 of them at 2 amp chrage thru. The adapters for the hyperion are cheaper and easier to find thean the v balancer. Both are great balancers, and the v balancer has a few more features...

Thanks. Sound like good advice.

I finally got in the mail an adapter I order from Hugo TrueRc Canada. This one will not allow the connections to be reversed. It adapt the FL to the Polyquest style.

Ignorance can be blissful at time but until I got the FP lipo in I thought there was only one type of balancer connection. I had a bunch of questions but did my own leg works so got it down to some basic ones. Found the table below and it answered serveral. Looking at it. The TrueRC, Maxamps, and Hyperion all use the Polyquest taps. Would I be right in guessing I wouldn't need any adapters to balance those batteries with the LBA10? The lipos taps should just plug right into the LBA10?.?.

As far as charging it looks from some pictures that the power from the charger goes into the input on the LBA10 then the LBA10's output goes to the batteries deans connector. Then the batteries taps connected to the LBA10. The actual charge is not going through the balancing taps?

Thanks again.
