motor kv and amp draw for 4s buggy
i am thinking of 2-3 motors for my rc8 buggy and would like thoughts and opinions on my choices
i am thinking of either a 1512 2.5d (2050 kv) or a 1512 2d (2600 kv) these are rated at 78 amps and 125 amps if i am geared for the same speed will i still draw more amps with the higher kv? i think so as total watts = v X a will the lower kv motor run cooler i may also try a 60mm (2000 kv) medusa as i have heard good things about these |
get the 2.5d your batteries will thank you the 2d is a hog ive heard
|
thanks , they are hard to find so i think i will just order it from the castle site
now to decide on F or S can |
If you can fit the finned can I would go with it. Medusa makes a decent motor, definately better than half as good as a neu, but only half the price.
I have a 1600kv 60mm if you are interested, but may be too low kv for your desired gearing. They are 4 pole motors so they can handle higher gearing... |
check out amainhobbies they got some 1512 2.5d's for sale......but i think they listed the kv wrong....it says that its a 2700kv motor but i emailed them asking them about this....i'm pretty sure its a mistake b/c you can't have a 1512 2.5d at 2700kv...

The medusa v2 60mm 2000kv is perfect for a 4s lipo config in a buggy. I would say go w/ the new 70mm for a truggy though, but for a buggy it is an amazing motor.. 15 or 16t depending on the track you run, it's in my tekno v3 8ight buggy. I have a neu 1515 2.5d in my erevo racer and a 1515 1.5d in my 8ight truggy conversion.
