Firmware update makes the Monster run cooler?

I have a V2 that I've been enjoying. I downloaded/installed the firmware upgrade last night. After running it this morning, I noticed the fan doesn't cycle nearly as much. I believe we have a cooler running Monster now. That means better efficiency.

Any of you Castle guys care to comment on this?

My setup is:

E Revo
18/40 Mod 1 gearing
Medusa 36-60-1500kv
Monster using the internal BEC to power Receiver/Servos
6S 20C 5000mah Lipo

Not to hijack this thread but I updated 1 of my MMMv2s thats paired with a Fiegao 6xl on 3s an it all but eliminated low speed cogging.

Welcome Phatmonk. This thread is to comment on the firmware upgrade.

I thought the Monster was smooth before, but I do believe it is even smoother now. If that's possible.

It was stated that there was a modification to the starting procedure.

Yeah, cooler running, smoother startups are both from improved startup software. Sweeeet isn't it?

sikeston34m 10.24.2008 12:42 PM

I believe it has affected Motor temp on my setup, at least some. It's better now.

Patrick, thanks for the reply. I just want to Thank you and all the hard working Employees of Castle Creations. I'm sure it's been a long hard road, but I believe you're "over the hump" now.

Motor temps are allways a issue especialy the Fegaos. The Fiegao is in my daughters matrix. My other 2 MMMv2s run with Neu 1515/1y and 1515/1.5d that allready have no heat issues. This sofware update will now put the MMMs in a class of their own.Period nothing even close on the market can touch it.

I know the feeling. It rained here in Southeast Missouri all day yesterday. But today, the sun just came out.

Everything is soggy though. After about an hour's running, I'm sure I blew a few pounds of dirt off my E Revo.

I was gonna wait to run it, but I couldn't resist.
