Losi 1/8 Xcelorin Motors

Anyone here got the new Team Losi 1/8 Xcelorin Motors or heard any feedback on them?

i had the ESC on back order with amain and it is available now but the day i was informed it was available my MMM V3 showed up in the mail. so needless to say, i wont be getting thel losi ESC. i would love to hear from someone who owns one though. the esc or the motor.

my friend just bought their 1/8 conversion kit for his truggy and it comes with a 17 tooth pinion and a 44 tooth spur gear as opposed the the 13/48 setup on the stock nitro. this tells me they must have some confidence in their motor to gear it so tall. i dunno(shrugs)

or they want to out do the nitro motors in terms of speed and hope people crash before ruining the battery or esc

Aparantly their have been a few Losi ESC failures now. Haven't heard any feedback on the motors though. I remember reading the manual and it said that the motors are right up to 190F or something like that

I think the motors look solid, but for a price of $179 new, there is no way I'd even consider buying one. Especially since you can get a medusa for less, or a Neu for only a few more dollars.

My thoughts exactly. Plus we have no real idea who is making the motor, material quality or performance. For close to 200 bucks it better be good...

I can pick up lightly used 1521 motors for that price.

I purchased the Losi 1700kv combo kit, it's not bad. ESC program can use a little more work (imo). It's not as sooth as MMM when braking, over all I'm pretty satisfied with the setup. I do know a person who has the 2100kv kit, he is experiencing cogging issues, but only when the lipo is getting close to it's cut off setting. Also during this time the motor jumps from 130 to 170+, but ESC stays at 110F - 120F, lipo doesn't get pass 110.

I notice mike seems to have them in stock. If the price was a bit cheaper I would definately be tempted to get one.

Aparently the brakes are to strong and Losi are bringing out a new firmware soon

What size is the shaft? Can't seem to find that anywhere.

Thanks.
