Custom Voltage for "Auto-Lipo" mode

I am just curious why this hasn't become an option via programming. The 3.0v/cell lvc for the current "Auto-lipo" mode is too low imo to be usable. Couldn't it at least be 3.2 volts per cell?

Hopefully someone at castle sees this. Meanwhile, everyone else should post if you like the idea of having custom voltage for "auto-lipo," because I know that there are a lot of you who have packs with varying cell counts, and it is a pita to change the setting through a pc every time you swap packs. This goes for all of castle's escs.

Anyone using the current "auto-lipo" with success?

^^+1^^

I have been using the auto setting but I measure my usage time of my batteries.I guess I havent wanted to funk out my MMMv2 since I heard a while back that custom LVC has caused problems. Also I think I remember pdelcast sugested to time battery usage.

Why???????? you can't put a custom value on the MMM like on the MM???????????????

You can. The question here is if Castle can add a new feature - which is to have auto-Lipo, but for the user to be able to set the per cell cutoff voltage. This is useful for people who use multiple cell counts on the same ESC, but prefer a higher cutoff voltage than 3v/cell (auto-Lipo) or don't like resetting the Custom cutoff voltage each time they switch cell counts.

I'll sign the petition for this. Now, where's my e-pen...

sikeston34m 10.29.2008 06:04 PM

I'll vote for this also.

My current E Revo setup:

Medusa 36-60-1500kv
Monster ESC
Mod 1 Gearing 18/40

Great to bash with on 4S
Need more speed? Drop in some 5S.
Wanna do some top speed runs? Drop in 6S

This setup is working VERY well for me.
I am using Auto Lipo with success, BUT as soon as I detect the LVC at all, I swap packs.

I'm up for it too! :) I dont normally use auto lipo mode because of this.

that would be great if this was implemented. I am one of those guys that uses multiple cell counts but am very tedious on my cut-offs. Castle are your ears ringing? I hope so.

I agree :D

hoovhartid 10.29.2008 11:19 PM

this would b cool!

^^ +1 I think this would be a great feature to add to the MMM. I believe MGM added per cell cutoff as an option on their ESCs, but you still have to manually select the number of lipo cells.

This would be a huge plus option in programming on the MMM.

I've been hoping they where going to do that for a while now. I guess hoping something happens just isn't enough.

I have mine set to auto, and through 5 batteries after my LVC kicks in I notice my 4s lipos still have 13 volts left.

Remember that battery voltage will drift back up a bit once you disconnect the load, and then a bit more if left to sit for a few minutes. 3.25v at rest unloaded is a bit low IMO. I like to see unloaded cells around 3.5v. So, for a 4s pack, that would be closer to 14v. A higher 3.2v/cell LVC setting helps to ensure that.
