Parallel 5s lipos for E-revo
I have been looking for a couple smaller mAH 5s lipos for running with a parallel connection in an E-revo with MMM and Teckno Neu 1515/1y. I am Looking for quality Enerland Based cells and I have been looking (especially at NeuEnergy's because there on sale right now) but i haven't found anything that looks large enough capacity.
Anyone with any links or ideas? Thanks |
How about running 2s and 3s in series? There's less complexity there, and weight distribution wouldn't necessarily be a problem, because you can mount the 2s on the ESC side and the 3s on the other side.
That does sound like a possibility, ill look around and see what i can find. From what i have heard you must use cells of the same capacity, So a 3s 5000 and a 2s 5000 right?
That is correct, when connecting LiPo packs together the capacity needs to be the same!
K, so i found on Neu's site the 2s and 3s 4900xp for $67 and $95 respectively, pretty darn good deal, only thing is that they are their 25c batteries, will these be sufficient?? or should i go for smaller capacity 30c batteries?

go to neu's car section and they have their 2s 5000 hard case packs on for 60.00 also... if you don't get your 5s to work out. |
I already have some descent 2s batts (polyquest 5000mAh 30c hardcase) i was just looking for a little bit more voltage without going to 6s, and i thought the battery compartments were 30mm high...ill have to check

3s 4900xp fits no problem after you remove the spring on top of the battery box. 6s on that 1y is gonna be a bit extreme though. But if you do these cells should hold up just fine
no i'm going for one 3s 4900xp and one 2s 4900xp for 5s 4900...so it wont be too high on the revs.

3s 4900xp is about 28mm high, pop out the spring on top and they fit easy. With the spring the chassis did have a bump.
Just got out the trusty Digital calipers and sure enough they are 30mm on the dot
And how exactly do you guys feel about the 1y on 5s, which is just over 40,000 rpm, still well below the 60,000 max. Anyone here with any experience of this motor on 5s?
Just been debating this in a different thread! It's my opinion that 6s is to much for the 1y, It can handle it yes but for how long and the temps will be higher than ideal and generally the optimal operating range is 35k +/- a few thousand. 5s is out of the optimal range in my opinion, the 1y is ideal for 4s. A 2.5d is better on 5-6s, it's actually freakish on 6s! At 25MPH it will still flip over if I punch it. This is all just my opinion.
