Couple of Bl questions
Just a couple of questions. Firstly what set up would be more reliable to run on a large block of land at high speeds often reaching 55-60mph on a truggy. Reliable meaning cool running, less stress on motor and esc. A single MMM on 6s and single motor, or a Dual MM with dual motors and two 4s lipos? (Please don’t say 8s single setup, I’m well aware). I’m guessing the dual setup would be more reliable. Would it be significantly or only marginally more reliable?
Secondly, is it possible to gear a car with a 12l motor high enough to match the speed of a car with a 7l motor, given that they are both running the same voltage? Thanks |

Sorry I should have clarified from the start. I'm not going to attempt this set nor am I looking at a new setup. Also the 7l and 12l motor questions have no relation with the first question. I wouldn't even think of trying to do 60mph on a 7l. I had a dual set up in an emaxx some years ago when the Hacker c50 maxx motors were first out and quickly left it for 18 cells and a single 1940 lehner motor setup and have more so mocked people running dual setups ever since.
Just these dual vxl setups with two 3s packs people are doing have got me thinking a bit because they actually seem to work. Not better than running a single MMM on 6s and a Neu motor i'm sure. They seem to be giving similar performance to a single 5s setup but with more reliable and cheaper esc's. And there is mention that running 2 motors can actually be cooler. I can't remember the temps on my dual hackers compared to my single 1940. I just didn't like the complexity of dual and the two c50's didn't seem to compliment each other very well. |
