What happened

What happened to the JATO ?. No body talks about them any more.

coolhandcountry 11.24.2005 11:41 PM

It is two wheel drive. Then the g2r chassis is coming out as well. It is like old school or something. :D

I geuss its just not that popular any more, coolhand is right, now that the g2r chassis are coming out, the main interest is the revo.

Though the Jato is a pretty nice truck.. But on the other hand.. what about the losi XXX-T or the RC10-t4...?

Batfish 11.25.2005 11:19 AM

I still talk about mine :)

It'll be in it's second race tonight as the V3 Jato. I'll also be running it in a trophy race at my local track on Sunday.

When the outdoor track was open there were a couple people that ran Jatos, but they were beginners to the hobby and racing so they didn't get much recognition. I expect there will be a couple more on the track for the next outdoor season.

The Jato is proving to be a pretty durable truck so far, too. I was able to break a turnbuckle when I ran into my garage, but I haven't broken another part since. The new track at my local shop has been nicknamed "Carnage" and is breaking vehicles left and right. I actually broke my XXX-4 buggy every time I put a battery pack in it; 4 packs, 4 breaks. The A main started with 11 buggies and finished with 6. I was one of the 5 who broke. The Jato took just as many tumbles and crashes without a single sign of wear. I'm very pleased with the truck's durability.

Maybe if traxxas made a electric version it might be a little more popular .

Sylvester 11.25.2005 12:03 PM

I wish they would. I've been messing with nitro's for a year and i'm tired of dealing with mine, but i love the suspension setup, if it were electric i would love it even more

coolhandcountry 11.25.2005 06:35 PM

Electric is the stuff. Nitro is trouble. So I run the stuff and not have trouble. :D

Sylvester 11.25.2005 06:37 PM

I see, i geuss thats why people like electric more.

crazyjr 11.25.2005 07:50 PM

That's why I'm waiting for the G2X. I want to play with my revo, but am tired of tryingto get a good enough tune that i don't have to worry about overheating.

coolhandcountry 11.25.2005 08:08 PM

The 2.5 traxxas motor is supposed to run kind of warm. I tried to tune mine to run cool when I had it as well. I was told later that it is supposed to run in the 280 or so. I think. :D but other motors are lower. Brushless runs if it is below 180.

nbcaznmaster 11.25.2005 08:28 PM

2.5 is a pain, and is known for overheating. I say screw it, get a big head and never worry abou tit again!
