VOTE HERE - Mugen MBX5T, Losi 8T, or Jammin X2 CRT?

i put a post on this in the brushless section but didnt get enough exposure. please gimme your feedback if any of you have driven these vehicles and which one you think is better and why? Thanks. even if you havent driven all 3 your 2cents is appreciated. if you can compare even 2 of the 3 mentioned that would be great.

i have the losi 8t and wanting to buy either the Mugen or the Jammin and will be going all out on this one (brushless and upgrades) so before i spend all the money i want to get the best one that i can. or should i stick with the 8t?

I haven't driven any 1/8 truggies but have been following them because I would like to possibly get one over the winter. The Losi 8-T seems to be liked by most, haven't really heard anyone that was disappointed with it. The associated RC8T seems to be getting some good reviews as well, seen one at the RC-M bash, wasn't BL though, gut seemed happy he said it jumped awesome but he still needed to do a little tuning to get it to turn better, but he said he was getting it to handle better, he only had it a couple weeks. Based on Jammin's reputation and seeing the first generation perform well and owning a CRT.5 I'm sure their new one is incredible too. Personally I would love an RC8T, associated's products are top notch, but do the cost I would prolly go with the eight-t. This is just what I have come up with from the research I have been doing and my personal preferences. Of course it also comes down to funding another project! I'm not sure I will be able to do another one as I have already dumped about $5000 into RC this year! OUCH looking back I may need RC anonimous! LOL

why? what do you like about it? have you driven other truggies?

david lamontagn 11.03.2008 11:12 PM

I had own all, and the MBX5T is my favorite:yes:
Reliable, solid as a rock, incredible steering, very easy to drive.

If i buy another truggy, it was an MBX5T for sure.

okay so almost everyone who knows is saying the Mugen. did you own the Jammin X2 or was yours the X1?

rchippie 11.04.2008 12:01 AM

All those truggy's are good . I would go with the one that has the best support in you area & the one thats the most popular at your local track . That way you can get good set up help .

rootar 11.04.2008 12:24 AM

the new jammin is a whole different animal over the X1, the x2 is like a ford lightning svt, while the old x1 is like a tank, the mugen is very nice but if i was gonna buy one id get the RC8T it drives incredibly, it just floats over every thing and handles like a BMW compared to anything else.

gtxracer 11.04.2008 01:30 AM

I would get an RC8T, heard so many good things about them. X2 is good too, got great reviews.

cheesecake 11.04.2008 02:27 AM

i had a bce pjx chassis on my x1 which basically what the x2 copied and the rc8t is a million times better then it. the rc8t out turns it and just all out is a more solid truck

Well, here are my thoughts...

Most ofna products are decent, but the hyper series of vehicles are better than the jammin stuff....

I have a mbx5 buggy and the build quality is great, I have not driven it though.

I had a losi 8 and did not care for the construction or design, felt cheap to me, and I can't stand std fasteners. I think my hyper8 is a better buggy than the losi.

As far as truggies go I have had a few lsps, a hyper st and a x1crt. The crt was junk, the lsp was not much better and the hyper st is way ahead of both.

From what I can tell the xray truggy is very nice...

starscream 11.04.2008 06:55 AM

I tried the losi 8ight and wasn't happy with it.

I got the MBX5T and have never looked back.

I put the X2 big bores on the MBX5T and it handles great

Mugen is quality, hardly ever breaks, and is as fast as they come.

the new jammin doesnt have much difference then the old, spiral cut gears and a relocated center diff, thats about it lol, and it handles amazing, i like it over an 8t, mugens are very nice tho, solid, never bottom out it seems

rootar 11.04.2008 08:20 AM

the X2 has different arms, bigbores, longer and narrower chassis, plus the steering geometry was changed i think? it does handle MUCH better than an x1 ive seen both run and ive drove an X1

but is still vote RC8T, then mugen.
