Any best BL ESC and motor for my e-maxx?

I would love to get a MMM combo (running a MM ESC, 9xl, and 2, 2s LiPo's right now and it's not running well even with an external BEC) but with all the MMM's that are failing, i'm not too sure i want to do that. I also don't need it to be that powerfull eather! I'm i'm running going to be running is 2, 2s LiPos for now. In the distant furture, i mite come back and get a 5s LiPo for it. So all i'm looking for is a good, reliable ESC and motor that can run 5s LiPo in an e-maxx.

P.S. It must be really reliable!!! lol My MM combo in my rustler have given me a LOT of trouble. I've fried my MM 3 times in my rustler running a 2s LiPo

MMM v3- you worry to much, or listen to too many idiots on the traxxas forum.

if you want to run 4s reliably, or 5s in the future, then that pretty much limits you to the MMM, the losi (havent heard much good stuff said about it or the motor so far), or an MGM- which is twice the $ and still not 100% reliable. Beyond that, there is nothing that doesnt come from europe, cost double or tripple what the MMM does, or isnt prone to blowing up if you fart on it (Schulze). You could try a kontronik jazz or jive, but they are still $$$, and have no reverse I believe....

MMM V3 or bust

haha nice!

and thanks for the help! I've just yet to have much good luck at all when it comes to elecronics on rc cars. lol I was just able to revise a trackpower LiPo from 5.36v but other than that, most everything goes wrong.

lol lucky you, i seem to blow mm's like crazy without any farts or overheating. I can only emagine if i farted on it wha would happen.

In this case, maybe your farts will be the noxious methane odor of good luck. Fart on your next MM and see what happens.

Suggestions...

Actually I have one suggestion for you that has not been mentioned yet. First off if you want a motor that is very reliable and gives you options for setup then spend your money on a Neu 1515/1y. Mike sells them right here on RCM for a fair price. In fact I have one on its way to me now. Of all the motors out there it seems to have the best reputation for reliability. Second check out Lutach's thread on high voltage ESC's and pick up one of his (made in China) 6s models. For the money and all of the rave reviews it seems to be a good choice for what you are asking. Then when you get all of that setup you can make your choice for new batteries to match the setup you have. That is the route I would take if I were in your shoes. Good luck with that...

Thanks, i'll take a look.

BL_REVO: Yea, i think i need to go ahead and fart on my diff in my rustler to see if that'll keep it from blowing. lol I've blown 2 diffs in my rusty wile only running a 2s trackpower and MM7700 combo. And now the diff that's in it seems to be about to go out too becouse it's getting pritty rough!
