Great tool to help decide- depends on what speed you want to gear the car for |
have a look at my thread for some build details. (i.e. things which must be worked around with the centre diff...
anyway i run with a 1512 2d with a 13-16t. id suggest starting around 15 with stock spur? hope this helps. btw, doing wheelies is FUN! |
i am builing the car for my 6 year old. But he still will want to race it. I was just looking for a decent starting point. everything on the car will be stock. But was looking for a pinion gear to start and keep temps down and gear from there. Thanks for the advice.

15t is good starting point. I'll be gearing my Mugen 17/46 for roughly 43 mph, running a nue 1515 1y, the motor that the castle motor is based of of. 2200 kv on 14.8v. I have a 15 if I need to gear down, but temp wise it should be fine. I ran that same motor in a converted revo. It a lighter buggy it should be just silly.

thanks for the help guys. i think ill order the 15,14,16,17. just to have a option. but ill start at 15 and work from there.

it will be balistic on 17t. what batteries are you planning to use? ive had good performance (i,e, wheelies...) with zippy 4800's. glad i got them when i did, now they arent such great value (exchange rate) for me. not sure where you are from though.

ya i will wind up gearing for track and conditions and size and temp was just looking for a starting point\. speed isnt to important because he will be racing it. but i will gear it to rip up on the nitro's
