MMM died during start up

I did a test run with the MMM(15 or so runs on it already), and hit the cutoff and charged the pack. With the fresh charged pack, I plugged it up, got some of the beeps...then nothing. Updated firmware right before this. Good connections, etc. It wont power up, but it will still program via the link. No smoke, no fire, quite un eventful.

sorry for your lost:oops:v1...v2 or v3 version?????

MetalMan 11.09.2008 07:26 PM

Is the switch still on there? If so, remove it as several others have reported switch problems that have made their MMMs seem dead.

Bomb-Proof 11.09.2008 08:11 PM

Its a V2, I jumped the switch and still nothing.

suicideneil 11.09.2008 08:28 PM

Yet it still programmes via castlelink?... Hmm- pass.

e-mike 11.09.2008 08:33 PM

me all my died v2 i was able to set the unit via castle link:yes: exept my melted unit:whistle::lol:

Bomb-Proof 11.09.2008 08:36 PM

yep, all is well on castlelink...

It actually made some of the tones(couldnt hear all of em...nitro was running near it), and then nothing.

e-mike 11.09.2008 08:38 PM

what about the led light?????

Dagger Thrasher 11.09.2008 08:44 PM

Just a thought... have you tried recalibrating it to your radio/checking your radio's endpoints, trims etc? I'm just thinking that it's possible that your radio's throttle channel could've been knocked out of trim when you changed the cells, resulting in the MMM refusing to fully arm. It's a long shot, but worth checking out.

I had that problem with one of my MMs once...it took me ages to figure it out. Wouldn't respond at all until I realised I'd messed up the radio settings.

+1 to making sure the radio is re-calibrated

MTBikerTim 11.09.2008 11:10 PM

I had some of mine do that. They were dead as far as I could tell. I didn't play with mine to much after they stopped working as the first one I had that I did keep trying to get working eventually went pop (no smoke just a pop). Basically unplug it and plug it back in keep switching it on and off and chances are you will eventually lose the ability to program it as well.

Hey mate it says on their website that if you update the firmware you will need to recalibrate the remote controll

finfin 11.10.2008 12:54 PM

try to change the remote setting of throttle to reverse and set again....

Bomb-Proof 11.10.2008 07:19 PM

will try it, keep in mind it worked twice after the update. No LEDs lighting up.

Bomb-Proof 11.10.2008 07:33 PM

Tried reversing, setting trims, etc. Even with no radio on it should still light up the Rx, which is doesnt. And the switch is fine. The fan has always worked on it also.....
