Traxxas Talons/Proline LPR rims?

I tried searching to see if anyone has tried this combo to see if it's possible to mountg the Talons on LPR rims but came up empty. I would like to use Talons for bashing, I have discovered that when properly glued to the rims they don't balloon as much and I'm sure that taping the inside would help even more. However I want to use these with my 17mm hubs, I know the 14mm setup won't hold up for long with a 1515 2.5D on 6s:whistle: I have stripped 14mm hexed with a punny TRX 3.3 so a setup running almost 2.5HP should be able to do this with ease!

Has anyone attempted to mount a Traxxas Talon (ID 3.8") on a LPR rim (OD 3.7")? I know that if the measurements where reversed they could be straetched over the rims. I also know that stock measurements aren't always spot on. Is there enough fudge factor here to make this combo work? I don't want to be the one to waste $60 to find out:lol:

I mounted talons on Axial over sizes bead locks.I cut 1/8 inch outta the inner bead to fit the bead locks better. No more horrible wheel wobble :yipi:

Traxxas had to get all stupid on us and make their own 17mm hexes! The hexes will work with all 17mm wheels but their wheels will only work with their hexes. As far as axial beadlocks go, I already have 2 sets of Maximizer beadlocks and don't want to buy another pair. Might have to settle for a set of mashers on my beadlocks or just keep switching out hexes from 14-17mm
