MGM not connecting to the computer?
Hey guys,
So i just got all the wiring done on my MGM. I'm trying to upgrade it to the newest software and have a play around with the settings. I have followed all the instructions exactly and the first time i connected it to the SW flasher it got recognised by the computer, but now it just won't connect up. I've tried both the CC02 and CC03 cables and it won't get picked up by the computer. Also, when i plug the ESC into the reciever, the steering servo works normally, but the throttle doesn't work ie. the motor doesn't spin. Am i doing something wrong here? If anyone could lend a hand that would be much appreciated. thanks jordan |
Did you calibrate to the transmitter first?
After that the unit needs to be completely plugged in, the transmitter and MGM both need to be hooked up completely and turned on. The MGM doesn't program like the CC ESC's do, power has to be provided via the batteries, not the USB port. |
I've tried it with the transmitter binded and also off. Made no difference, it still doesn't recognise. Got a battery plugged in, and theres a light on in the controller.
Thing is it connected once yesterday, but now it just doesn't want to  Last time this happened, ie. the steering servo worked but the motor wouldnt spin over was when my EVX died in my 3906. Do you guys think theres something wrong with the controller? |
make sure that your switch is on...I forgot to do this the first time I programmed my mgm
|
yep, switch is defiantely on, do you use the MGM flasher software?

I just used the disk it came w/ and the cc02 cable. I found that the small plug that goes into the esc itself is a pain in the a**. If it is not perfect, it will not work correctly. I have aslo had to check and recheck my connections to my cc02 cable...sometimes it will not work for no apparent reason.

OK, so now it will connect to the PC via the USBcom and CC02 cable. I'm trying to program the min/max throttle positions via the transmitter as per the manual. Trouble is, when i turn the Rx on while holding full throttle on the transmitter, i get no response from the ESC or Rx, so i cannot put the MGM into programming mode.
Anyone else had this problem before? I'm really stumped on this one  |
