i sure hope neu keeps making the smooth can designs..getting those in the 1515 series especially in a 1.5D is getting to be a rare find nowadays. |
Neu will always make the smooth can motors. The boat guys strictly use the smooth cans with external water jackets.

It shouldnt be a problem since you have the FLM tranny, but I can confirm that finned 1515 neus DO NOT fit on the stock rustler tranny.

thanks!! i'm using 54/24 (32p gearing)...the 24t is from Mike. if you can get close to that, i'm sold on the finned version. |
Sorry, but I havent got 54t spur. I tested 56 spur with 25 pinion and there is about 2-3mm of space left before the fins will start to touch the tranny. Maybe you can give me the shaft to shaft (centered) measurement so I can be accurate for you.

Dwight, have you considered taking off the kitel? (rpm bumper) I had an flm rusty with just a measly mm5700 sysem in it and approaching 70mph on 3s lipo the bumper acted like a kite and lifted the front end.
It is superior for bashing! but that looks like a balls out speed machine to me and would be more stable at speed with out it. |

i had a scary close call the other day when some wind caught underneath the chassis. i think had it been any lighter, and it would have scooped it up and gotten it airborne. |
