I dount it, unless you run the flm tranny. I tried to get a hacker c50 motor to fit in s stock rusty tranny and it would not, and the finned neu is the same diameter. The hacker c50 will fit the flm tranny but gear is limited more than a smooth neu...

thanks, much appreciated.

i sure hope neu keeps making the smooth can designs..getting those in the 1515 series especially in a 1.5D is getting to be a rare find nowadays.

Neu will always make the smooth can motors. The boat guys strictly use the smooth cans with external water jackets.

:surprised: my revo did standing back flips with a 1515 1y/s. It must just be stupid in a rustler.

It shouldnt be a problem since you have the FLM tranny, but I can confirm that finned 1515 neus DO NOT fit on the stock rustler tranny.

Hey Rocket, the 1515 1.5d NEU in my FLM Rustler is finned but had to file down some fins to fit 12/58 gearing. What gearing are you using so I can check for you?

thanks!! i'm using 54/24 (32p gearing)...the 24t is from Mike. if you can get close to that, i'm sold on the finned version.

Sorry, but I havent got 54t spur. I tested 56 spur with 25 pinion and there is about 2-3mm of space left before the fins will start to touch the tranny. Maybe you can give me the shaft to shaft (centered) measurement so I can be accurate for you.

Dwight, have you considered taking off the kitel? (rpm bumper) I had an flm rusty with just a measly mm5700 sysem in it and approaching 70mph on 3s lipo the bumper acted like a kite and lifted the front end.

It is superior for bashing! but that looks like a balls out speed machine to me and would be more stable at speed with out it.

yeah you're right about that. i've since flipped the bumper over and am runing a front wing to keep it planted.

i had a scary close call the other day when some wind caught underneath the chassis. i think had it been any lighter, and it would have scooped it up and gotten it airborne.
