Esc/rx placement

Hey guys, i finally jumped over to DSM, Spektrum SR3000 and an M8 module.

I was wondering if there were any guidelines to receiver placement in relation to the speed controller and motor? I did a search and couldn't find definitive information. I know with my75mhz setup i would only get about 30 feet of range before it would start to fade in and out- but i dont know if 2.4ghz systems are open to interference like lower frequency systems. Thanks for the help.

I have never had any problems with my Futaba FASST

Not only are Spektrum wayyy higher in frequency, but the "data" packet based rather than simply AM or FM modulated. However, the signal can get washed out by the noise emanating from the high power BL motor wires. The same "rules" apply as any other radios; keep the antenna and any low voltage/power wires (steering, throttle, CH3) away from the motor and battery wires.

so what if i have the esc mounted on top of the rx box... bad i guess?

well....it would be kinda hard to keep the antenna away from the BL motor wires if the ESC is on top of the receiver...

:rules:

Well i have seen where the motor wires go right over the rx and no problems..
its a little 2x2 project box that is perfect for an rx box...

SOmetimes it will cause an issue, sometimes it wont be a problem at all. I had a wierd glitching issue once that I fought with for weeks. I moved the Rx like 3 inches farther away from the esc and it never glitched again. I have had other setups with the Rx litterally sitting side by side with the esc and never had a problem at all.

Do you have a pic of this box? I could use one.
