MMM mount made my way. (pics inside)

Ok, so as a lot of you know I am waiting on the combo to be shipped. I was looking around and did not see any mounting brackets on the MMM. I decided to look around to see what other people were doing until Traxxas releases theirs next year. (I do not wan to use zip ties) I drew a few sketches based off the pictures online. Finally, I came up with an idea. It will be somewhat close to Traxxas's design; although, I will not be able to do the rest until I receive the MMM combo, or if someone would let me borrow a v3 case!

Here is the bottom plate. (It is in a somewhat rough form) It is made from 1.5mm T6-6061 plate.

Sorry, I will not reveal my plans until I get it finished, or until I get something more to work off of.

Nice mount set up you got there!

traxxasbasher13 11.15.2008 12:23 AM

Is that made out of a bulkhead brace? It looks really nice can't wait to see it done!

That's kinda funny, I had a thread on the traxxas forum called "E-Revo built my way" http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=434613
you wouldn't happen to browse by it did you?
another funny thing is that my MMM mount looks just like this!

I remember reading your thread a while back. Well dang, I bet that is where I got the title of the thread. (thought it was familiar when I typed it)

lol yea, the mounts do look pretty close. The cutouts like we did them are easy and make it about as light as possible while still giving it strength.

I can assure you this, nothing else will be in common!:mdr:

X2 on that. BTW, did you paint your chassis black?

Carraig042 11.15.2008 02:14 PM

It looks as though he dyed it black. I did it a little while back and it looks so much better than grey.

I now remember seeing that mount set up before...I may have to borrow that idea...great job!

magman 11.15.2008 02:26 PM

I also like the black chassis much better.

wow...cleanest e-revo ever:gasp:but a truck like this should never see the mud

Hey Brett,

Don't sweat it, I'm cool with sharing ideas, don't take anything I said earlier to heart.. I myself am curious about the new traxxas MMM mount, do you know if there is a closeup picture available online..
The mount on my e-revo is a old design, I've fabricated a new one that will work on e-revo, buggies & truggies..

Carraig042 11.17.2008 12:20 AM

I got you. I know that there is a picture of the mount that is close up, I will just have to find it. I will post the picture when I do.

HERE is a link of one that is somewhat close so you can get a good idea on how it works.
