Brushless Boats

Does anyone run one?
Ive grounded the e maxx for the winter ( just cant keep out of the puddles)
Not wanting to put the set up in anymore danger by drowning the whole lot in a lake, but I just wondered what sort of boat you could run with 18 cells and a 7 XL? :D

any help greatly received

Sorry i got no idea about boats, this one seems pretty quick though:http://www.monsterrccentral.com/rcvi...A_SAW_2003.wmv

u could get teh traxxas vilian, has teh same motors and esc as a e-maxx. thats the only boat i know of.

cabking 11.28.2005 08:27 PM

jeez that was quick,
I don't think I need 120 mph though. :D

18 cells would make a stock Maxx underivable,,I reckon it would do the same to a Villain.

From what i hear about BL boats Chris at FINE DESIGN is the guy to talk to about boats.

The 7XL is a pretty hot motor for a boat. You can use that in hydro that is 25"-29" long and 12 cells. This setup will get you about 1.5-2 minutes of runtime with 3300s at about 45-50 MPH before stuff starts to get hot.

Randy from BBY brought along a 24" or so hydro the last time he stopped by Hobby People, it was loaded with a Hacker B50 8xl and he said it was going to run 24 cells. I know it was meant to be a speed demon and that's about it, and it even looked darn fast too.........it's got a bright yellow and orange paintjob if you ever see it show up. :D

Steve Vasdekis 11.28.2005 11:22 PM

When Randy runs boats with that many cells he is trying for a speed run that only lasts about 2-5 seconds.

well - i dunno about him - but before the LST i was kinda browsing on what to spend my dosh on - but came across a german site ( http://www.hydromarine.de/ ) - they gave me a (rather large) quote for a wicked fast 15-20 minute run time cat (the maritimo - 950mm long - dunno inches) on 20 something cells and one of the lehner 22series motors....

But i had also heard very bad things about fine design - but some great things from Aussie guys about BBY racing and Fullers fast electrics ( http://www.drcwebservices.com/ffe/ )

another link for ya i found that might come in handy? http://www.rumrunnerracing.com/feforums/

i used to have (still in the shed) a kyosho Bluestreak, wasnt great but with a few upgraded parts and a upgraded moter/battery pack it was ok, quite fast .........Run time wasnt very much tho id guess about 5/7 mins on a 7.2 2400 pack

I do however like the look of the nimbus, you can run a single motor, or twin speed 600's. Wonder if it could handle a single brushless??

Not top a of the range but still good fun and FAST !!!!!!!!!!!

look on ebay, i think i saw one. Just look under BRUSHLESS and it'll be teh most expensive one. lol

thanks for all the links guys,
I like the look of this hull,Triton Mono

and its a local firm so the shipping will be zero.
Ive go to do a bit more research on what motor to put in it though.

Guerilla 11.30.2005 04:42 PM

That looks realy good, does it include the rudder ect ? How much does it cost ?

cabking 11.30.2005 04:57 PM

they can supply the rudders and surface drive for it. The cost will be a fraction of what the emaxx cost , but I already have the power and radio sorted.

check out the leccy boat cream the nitro racing boat
