Tekno 1512 motor

I bought me a Tekno 1512/2y/F. The finish on the motor is ok. The shaft was oxidized when i received it. I expected better for such a expensive motor. At least they included both the 4mm female and male plugs.

It is not oxidized, it is from the heat treating/tempering process used on the shafts. We thought the same and asked Neu, that's what they told us :)

It's ugly and needs to be addressed. For a bid more I could of bought the C50 Hacker on your site instead.

It's like driving a ferrari with with a rusted driveshaft.

I do like how the motor wires are protected coming out the end bell. And noticed the bearings where oiled nicely.

If you'd like to return it toward credit on the C50, just let us know before you use it. Thanks.

Were you looking at the c50 L can motors Romano?

They are compareable to a 1512, for power output.

snellemin 11.20.2008 01:43 PM

Don't worry about it. I'll use it and complete my review. If I'm dissatisfied with it's capability I'll purchase a C50. I was using a B50 11L previously.

This is what it will be used in with 9s A123.

OMG, that Rustler is going to fly. What tires are those? How do they hold up?

Why don't the normal neu's have this?

snellemin 11.20.2008 04:21 PM

Those are the Imex claw dawgs. I just put them on last nite and haven't had a chance to run them. 4.25" tall and 2.5" wide. I taped them before I mounted them on the wheels.

Yes, I was looking at the C50 L. I like the finish on those.

The hacker c50 are very nicely made motors. Top notch on fit and finish. They are 2 pole motors, but have segmented magnets and produce comparable power to a neu. Seem to be a bit heavier, though not much...

I finally ran it a bit today. Blew one tire of the beadlock. It has this insane scary sound when it comes barreling down the road and keeps gaining momentum. Geared at 58/25 the ESC is warmer then the motor.

Some of the "normal" Neus do have this - it is nothing to worry about, won't affect performance and can't be seen with the pinion installed. :)

Motor stayed around 110f and the esc was at 89f with the fan installed on the ESC. Geared for the same speed, acceleration is comparable to the B50 hacker that was using previously.

I still like how the motor wires are protected against the endbell.
