My Hyper 7 Brushless project.

Well, I figured a good way to introduce myself is to share my latest project with you all.

I started with an Ofna Hyper 7 PBS.
Electronics:
Mamba Monster Max V3
8XL motor
2x 2s 4000mah lipo, in series
Tower Pro MG995 stearing servo
Nomadio radio system

Harware:
RC Monster motor mount
RC Monster motor clamp
custom battery tray

Here is how it is looking as of now. I am still waiting on the motor clamp, motor, and pinion.

Nice clean looking installation. Have you ran the Tower Pro MG995 servos before?

rcoverboard 11.21.2008 04:35 PM

Yes, I have them in all 3 of my Savages, my FLM Pede, and also in the buggy before. I get them in lots off ebay for $40 shipped. I have only had one go south on me in over a year of using them. For the cost (about $10 each) I think that I can afford that. My trucks see alot of air time, so I just cen't justify spending $100 on a servo and having the case crack the first time I take on big air.

Looking good RCO, but i have told you that already. :na:

Update:

When I got home today, my motor clamp and pinion were in the mailbox!!!

Then I was down here looking the buggy over and realized that I wasn't happy with the battery tray. I happened to see an old Stampede chassis laying in one of my parts pile, so I grabbled the tools and did some modding to it. This thing is sturdy now.
Also, here are some pics of the body I painted last night.

I need a motor before I can shoot a vid of it lol. Hopefully it will be here tomarrow. Which works for me since it is suppose to be 50 degrees tomarrow, rather than the 22 we had today.

just curious ...why did you mount the battery tray like that ?..and not just mount the tray flat

BL_RV0 11.22.2008 12:48 PM

Are you planning to get new wheels and tires? :na:

rcoverboard 11.22.2008 08:29 PM

CRTIM, the tray just happened to fit better that way. Laying it down caused some issues with clearances. I am sure that when my budget can afford it I will order the RC Monster battery tray, but this works for now.

BL__RVO, I have 3 more sets of wheels and tires. I just use the baldies for running in the street while I am testing.

The motor arrived today. I got it in. I have lots of low end grunt, but my top end is lacking a little. I guess I just have to get it programmed right. Any suggestions?

Ok guys, I have a question. I layed the battery tray down flat, but how in the heck can I fit 2 3s lipos in this thing? If I stack them, they push up on the body. I will be running 2 3s Zippy 5000mah packs. Anyone have a pick of this setup, or how to fit a 6s under the lid of one of these things?
