Choosing motor... alternatives?
So I have made Hyper ST Pro brushless, had one chinese motor for test, but it just died... Test not passed:lol:
So I was planning to get Medusa Afterburner V2 80mm 2200kv motor, to power my truggy. But now I would like to know, that is there any alternatives for that, for same price and power? Truggy is pretty heavy, so just any motor wont last, its more like 4,5kg/10lbs. I have gears 11-14t /52t. And as it wont go any easier, motor diameter should stay +/-2 mm 36mm, so that it fits without removing front brace. And ESC is MMM v3 and batterys 4S lipos. |
I think it's going to be hard to beat the medusa for the value to money spent ratio. 4,5kg really isn't that heavy. You could use the 80mm, but I'm sure the 70mm would be fine.

I would go with the 80mm medusa.

i would try to find a good deal on a 1515 1y, you will smile more when you punch it with the neu!
|
also you will strip the threads out of the medusa in a short time, and you will be left buying a neu eventually, might as well skip the step, i did the same thing
|
Do the Medusas have a problem with striping?
|
castle 1515 1y would be an alternatice at the same price point - I've seen no issue with stripping threads.
|
If you ask me there arent enough threads about stripping.
Oops wrong forum... |

No problems with my Medusa stripping threads out. You just gotta know when to say when, and put the allen down.

I don't think they do, being that the CC motor is thinner, but longer...
That rreally didn't sound right. I think neil and I are both confused of which forum we're on. |
