castle sensored esc comming?

I'v herd a few rumors, but nothing offical, is it true that your coming out with a sensored esc within the next 6 months?

suicideneil 11.25.2008 03:26 PM

Dunno about in the next 6 months, but they are working on an 'MambaMaxPro' - 5s lipo support and sensored motor support, maybe a switching BEC too. Rumours are fun...

Sorry guys but Patrick already confirmed that although he still considers a non sensored motor/esc superior CC are making a sensored setup.

This was many months ago but no ETA. I think the MMM, 1/8th ocnversion kits and Traxxas deal will have kept them busy.

I would really like to see castle make a sensored sidewinder size esc with a 1000kv outrunner with a sensor, perfect for a 2.2 crawler, or use 2 for a clod based super class rig... I cannot really complain though, the sidewinder and 833kv outrunner I have is really good. Super smooth startups, and it only cogs when I have the truck going up a steep incline. Drag brakes work great. The bec is a bit weak, but I am running a 9000t servo so I use a ccbec to power it and the radio (another great product from castle)!!!

I am sure that Patrick (and everyone else here) is sick of me posting this...

ok, its nice to know that there working on it, but is there ANY idea of when it will be out?

Dagger Thrasher 11.25.2008 06:53 PM

No-one outside of Castle really knows, although I imagine it'll be soonish as it's on the Special Projects site. If I recall, it's still going to be primarily a sensorless system but with a sensor port...mainly for use in rock crawling, according to Patrick (and of course if you want to use it for other stuff too). Should be a nice ESC.

I don't think you'll see many dates getting put out by castle anymore after the delays and frustrations from people waiting for the MMM. At least I know I wouldn't be!

whitrzac 11.28.2008 07:20 PM

well, joe said the "he can't talk about it" if its not for sale, then stoped replying to my emails....

Guys, this controller is high on the to do list.

We get bashed for not releasing a product, but we do have a learning curve around here, sort of. This one will be released when it is ready. Not likely to be in production form for 2 to 3 months.

whitrzac 11.30.2008 12:12 PM

Lee Estingoy 11.30.2008 01:52 PM

Sure hope it is before the end of 09.

Look, we get in trouble for giving out info long before the products are ready to ship.

Let's just embargo the whole sensored controller thing until we're ready to ship. Nobody gets their hopes up only to be unintentionally hurt when we experience delays.

Nobody wants to see our development projects done more quickly than we do!

Thanks,

Lee
