WTB: Waterproof XL-5 ESC, AX10 Scorpion Roller or Axles/Links/Tranny
As the title states, I am looking for a waterproof XL-5 ESC, an Axial Roller, or Axial individual parts, Tranny/High Clearance Links/Axles anything but nothing from the RTR unless it's dirt cheap.
PM me with price shipped to 77069 if you are interested in selling. Thanks! |
Sounds like a cool project. I am currently making a waterproof scale vehicle. Something appealing to being able to drive an r/c completely submerged! I started with a tamiya f350 high lift as my platform.
If you are looking for spares cheap rccrawler forum may be your best bet... |

I have looked at so many submerged vehicles in pics and videos it has caught me. There are a lot of nice and expensive kits but I plan to do more work myself and save some cash rather than wrap up 2k in a kit. |

I am just finishing up my f350 water vehicle. I am using a regular tamiya silver can brushed motor, with a tamiya speed control. It is the cheap one that is thrown in with many of their kits. I dipped it in plier handle coating to seal it up. Also did the same with the steering servo, and put a greased o-ring under the servo horn. I will put a balloon around the receiver, and silicone the end where the wires come out. I also plastic dipped the lipo, an old maxamps 5000 2s pack. That should cover the electronics. I also packed the trans and diffs with grease, and run bushings in the axles, sealed bearings in the tranny. I plan to wire up some lights and maybe add a few scale accesories to make it look better. It has a bedliner sprayed body right now, so it will never look great. I plan to bash it hard, so that is ok with me! |
