potential problem with my MM
Well, i went to enable the internal BEC on my mamba max today and i found something. First, i went to take the MM out of the car and i noticed that it had come out of it's case (the forces of some crashes must have striped the screws out of the case). So then i went to reattach the middle wire going to the reciever, no case made it real easy to do. so when i finnally got the wires twisted togather and i put shrink wrap over it to hold it, i found that the far right wire was only still held on by 2 tinny strips of wire. here is a pic:
http://i33.tinypic.com/xdtw6t.jpg So i got took the extra slack and tucked it up in the cover and mounted the cover with a zip tie to keep it on and mounted it to the car. I turned it on (fresh charge) and turned the servo and it was turely worthless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with the front end off the ground, it would take 3 seconds to turn the wheels from side to side and thay wouldn't ever turn all the way eather! i'm guessing this is from the wire having so much resistance from it having to go threw such a small amount of wire? Anyway, i really wanted to run it with the new big bore shocks, RPM rod ends and new turnbuckles that i just cut the wire someware elts and mounted the AA betteries someware elts on the chassie (ended up making a great mount!) and ran it like that. |
PCB looks like it's still in good condition, I would desolder all 3, cut wire, and restrip all 3 the same and solder it again. Easy way to solder in this situation is. strip the wire, twist the wire straight, tin that wire with solder. Then heat up the bottom of the pcb and slide the wire through the hole, But don't apply too much heat or else you could burn up the pcb or desolder adjacent solder points. Use fine tip and lo-heat!

humm....thanks for the info! but i have a 40 and a 60Watt iron, neather have a heat adjustment. And neather have a pointed tip eather
