Strobe slipper questions

Guys, do you de-grease the bearing on the strobe adapter?

How do you tighten the sprong? It's hard to hold the shaft (for as long as the spur still slips)

Good point.. Loosing the grease is a good thing imo, since it's in the center of a heatsource where you don't want any grease to get in.... :)

Just use my hands to tighten it.. I can cranck it all the way down.. it's not that hard, i just press the spur against the slipper, rather hard, and start turning, by the time he wants to slip, the nut is tightening it so hard, it is getting harder and harder for her to slip..

That's how I do it too, but with the sprong it just wont work as easy as with the stock spring. It just keeps slipping, no matter what, and there's not enough of the slipper plate visible to hold it.

Other than that, gotta love the big knobbed nut-disc thingy.

The de-greasing is suggested on the strobe site. Just wondered what your opinions are.

You could use a dry lube, that isn't affected by heat.

I meant, just press the spur rather hard towars the gearbox.

Dafni in the instructions listed on the strobe site. He says wash out the grease & do not oill at all. I also found out you have to grind the pin down on the outside drive plate so the sprong does not get stuck on the plate. It must be smootharound the little pin. Also your supposed to shim the bearing on each side . So the bearing is centered as much as possible in the stobe adapter.

Good point Hippie, I will look at this pin.
