Medusa endbell cover?

Does any where make a endbell cover for medusa motors? I'm going to be getting one soon and I would like something to cover the open endbell so no dirt gets inside.

Any body? Would the rcm neu rear endbell cover work?

This RCM one should fit fine as they are 36mm diameter motors. Fiegao S is the same length as the medusa 50, and the L is the same as the 60.

The only thing that MAY be an issue is the raised area around the motor shaft. You might have to dremel out the RCM heatsink in that area.

I was asking about a cover that would keep the dirt and other objects out of the motor.

I can't seem to find the neu end bell cover on rcm.

The Neu cover won't work for the Medusa anyway for a couple of reasons:

1: Medusas are 35mm diameter and the Neus are ~40mm.

2: The Neu cover snaps on the rear of the Neu to keep dirt out. It wouldn't prevent the rear end cover from popping off.

3: Fairly recently, Neu started using screws to hold the end cover on their motors. And these screws are different for each motor. To use the cover, you'd have to dremel out the area where the screws would go for each particular motor - so Mike stopped carrying them.

I've been using electrical tape to cover up the holes. I just use a hobby knife to cut off the excess and make it look nice and clean. It works well enough to keep dust out.

I like tape too, the exposed stickyness over the holes also picks up dirt that gets in from the front of motor.

I thought about using tape, but was concerned that when the motor got warm, the tape would get gooey. Not an issue right now, but in summer where tape gets gooey just sitting there in the heat...

are you guys saying these rear air holes are not needed for airflow?

Aluminum ducting tape worked nicely for me - care of e-revonut

In a brushed motor, airflow is more important because the heat-producing component is on the rotor. In a BL motor, the coils (heat-producing component) is the can itself. So, just use a heatsink on the case if heat is a concern. Yeah, the magnet/shaft can get warm too, but you just have to rely on convection to get rid of that heat (and the little air cooling you get on the shaft outside the motor).

I guess it's a tossup of better cooling, or potentially having pebbles in the motor tearing up the coils...

Yeah thats the stuff no Goo factor.

Would a 36/60/2000 be enough for a reletively light e-maxx?

traxxasbasher13 12.08.2008 11:32 PM

Nobody?
