All, Rejoice for NEW LiPos!
http://www.hobbypeople.net/mfr/implse01.asp
http://www.toddsmodels.com/Lithium/i...ndhyperion.htm These new Impulse cells are rather good. All (or many) are the same as the new Hyperion cells, but are less expensive. Believe it or not, the Impulse 2100mah cells are most likely the same thing as the TP Prolite 2100mah cells , but at a fraction of the cost! This means that you can get TP performance and low weight for much less: http://www.tppacks.com/products.asp?cat=13 The difference in size and weight comes from the pack construction; the Hyperion and Impulse have foam padding, and the TP don't. Internal construction may also be different. It is just incredible that you can get a TP 3s 2100mah (15C) pack for $10 from Hobby People (the Impulse pack), or $12 less from the other website! David, you gotta start taking advantage of that employee discount . |
they are rather cheap, but their preformance isn't all that?
Yeh, if I was ever to go Lipo it would be for the performance not costs. :)
The great thing is that some of the Impulse cells come from the same factory as TP. If you want TP performance, but don't like the cost, then you want these!
I wonder if the 3200mah 20C uses the same cells as the Kokam 3200mah... |
I don't know an other cell, that does 3200mAh and is 20C, i am pretty sure it is the Kokam, Metalman.
eehh, the mah is kinda low. could put them in parrelel or something
Yes, it is, and parallel would be the way to go. But for the price, you can't go wrong (compared to TP). Also see here for inexpensive 10C Lipos:
http://www.his-hershobbies.com/page/page/978479.htm They will be making parallel packs, as well as higher series packs. 11.1v and 21amps continuous for $37 isn't bad! To make a 6s pack for a 9XL, you would only have 4 packs in total, so only $148, including taps! That's for 42amps continuous and 22.2v (nominal)! Only downside is that their form isn't the greatest. |
wow that's a pretty good deal
So wait, which ones do I have to buy now? I saw this one (the 2s1p 7.4v one) or this one (the 3s1p 11.1v), those would be the best right? How would these compare to the 3s2p 8000mah pack here? I had planned on getting two of the 11.1v 8000 packs from that guy, with taps added for $12 per pack, and liked the idea of the extra long runtime.
But now I just saw that page for the loose cells, now I'm all confused.....:D |
Get those TrueRC packs for sure! I was pointing out that there is another Lipo battery that you could use your employee discount with ;).
Yeah, I'm pretty set on those packs, but if only I could figure out a charger............better wake that thread up again......;)
Is that true lipo site for real???? A 4s 4000mah pack for only $85 dollars? That would nearly half the price of competitors
25A continues isn't enough Re~mix.
