My work in progress, need some help! w/pics!

New member here. finished another project that i had going, and now it's onto this unfinished project. this is what i have.

mmmv2
spektrum dx2
tekno conversion
tranny w/single only conversion, wide ratio, locked in second gear
333oz hitech servo

that's it for the big stuff.

so basically this is what i need help with.

1. which motor.
2. which batteries.
3. should i upgrade to spektrums new dx3s.
4. what gear setup should i be using? pinon, spur, whatever.
5. anything other info, tips, things i should get.

im a basher, i just wanna fly around a parking lot at nitro speed for 20 minutes or so per battery. i want something efficient, and not too crazy.

heres the pics:

1. which motor. Neu 1515 1Y or...2.5D
2. which batteries. Neu 5S or Mikes 5S
3. should i upgrade to spektrums new dx3s. I would, you will eventually.
4. what gear setup should i be using? pinon, spur, whatever. Use BrianG's speed calculator to get the rpm's up around 40K+
5. anything other info, tips, things i should get. buy the parts now to upgrade your diff cases/cups to aluminum - you will need them sometime in the near future,

Have you run a Revo in stock config before? If so, give us a report on those Integy shocks. Aw Hell, give us a report anyway..!

Motor- 1y on 4s or 2.5d on 5s
Batts- any enerland based cells such as neu or Mike's LiPos
Radio- you already have a 2.4ghz setup so I'd worry about spending the money elsewhere for now

And while your waiting send in your v2 for a v3

Just buy the MMM 2200 combo for 300. Plenty of power, great price, neu licensed motor. Can run on 4-6s with plenty of speed and power. Batteries stick with enerland cells as suggested already and a 2.4ghz radio is best although a good FM radio will work too.

I wanna see that Q motor mounted up.

George16 12.16.2008 09:21 PM

1515 1Y on 4 or 5S
Enerland based lipos
I'll pick the 4PKS over the DX3S
I'm using 36/15 spur/cb
Buy RRP gears for the tranny and rcm diffs.

ill let ya know how things turn out.

~1300kv motor on 6s lipo? Thats not exactly a common choice, you will have to gear up rather alot to make decent topspeed Im willing to bet...

I run a 1515 2.5d (1650kv) on 5s. My motor is only spinning about 2000RPM's more than his will be. I don't think he'll have to gear to crazy unless he's trying to get more than 40MPH out of his setup. If anything it'll be a lot more driveable. I originally started out on 6s but it was insane and impossible to keep the front wheels down.

Verry cool build.. nice and clean!.. looking good.. best of luck and be sure to post bashinhg video!..

P.S.
Welcome to the monster!..

i wanted a setup that was near or a little faster than nitro speeds, with a decently long runtime and extreme efficiency. im a basher, i dont care about doing 60+mph i just want something fun, looks good and will last awhile.

i have the 1515 2.5d on 5cell too. it doesnt leave alot of room of gearing, at 17/38 (max gearing possible with the tekno kit)

the top speed is 36mph, thats perfect for me because i race on a tight track, but if you want to go faster,i would go with the 1515 2d or 1515 1y if you want to go over 40mph.

also a 6cell setup would be alot more fun!

so a 6cell and 1515 2d would give you alot more options in gearing and nitro smokeing speed:yipi:

Gearing options on an actial E-REVO not a converted one are wide open! On 5s I can gear for well over 45 if I want to. Not sure what the temps would be though. I'm geared for about 38 with great temps!
