Lets try this approach!..

Since all of the builds I was completing on building this coming year have been done:
• Flying car
• Turbine powered RC
• UFO

Let’s try this approach! :yipi:

What is the world record for the longest jump by and RC car  Or better yet a turbine powered RC car?

If can’t build something new and outrageous, why not brake / shatter someone world record! / hopes and dreams..:lol:

I’ll leave the speed record to some one else!, I want total glory or total failure / crashing at outrageous speeds into the mountain side completely disincarnating the RC if it fail to jump (bull dog cliff, or muff mountain)..

So does anyone now what the world record is or where I can even look for such a record???

Thanks guys…

It was almost a stadium... I'll have to find the you-tube but it was a long way....

Does that actually count as a "jump"? For one, it was unintentional, and two, I'd call it falling with style.

I agree dont you have to land it for it to be an actual jump. I could launch one of my trucks that far if I wanted to waste $500 lol

rootar 12.17.2008 08:55 AM

i send my trucks 65 feet all day long, and ive seen others jump fullsize fmx ramp setups just as i do at my house, so Your gonna have to go over a 100 thats forsure and youll prolly need 50-55mph to do it along with atleast a 6 foot ramp id suggest a 30-35 degree final angle other wise youll be going so high your never keep it on its wheels when landing.....

I've beaten that with a rocket-motor powered RC10GT. I think I took a video of it. I had a servo controlling the lighter and the lighter would light all the fuses at once. There was a total of 25 rockets on the car. I was running a rollcage. I clocked the car at 74 before it hit the ramp. It flew 192 feet.

did you drive away??? lol

Hydrogen fuel cell r/c? Maybe a scale hindenberg...zeplins are cool, and an r/c one would be really neat.

Large 5-10 stage rocket in a gutted touring car. You would probably be able to reach 70mph+.:yipi:

how bout a 1/4-1/2 scale monster truck

BL_RV0 12.17.2008 08:34 PM

How about a real car converted to RC?

RCShocker 12.17.2008 08:54 PM

I have no doubt Shaun could out jump that car in the YouTube vid.

And that's a pretty small stadium. I'll have to watch it again.

OOoh I can do way better than that!. I know of grave yard for planes out in the dessert area, I was thinking of building a 1/5 4x4 that could jump well over 200 feet!,

Longest motocross jump is 288 ft. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DpvI...eature=related

I think I might have something here!.. HAhahahahaa..

Thanks for your imput guys..

You bet I can! :lol:

BL_RV0 12.20.2008 11:58 AM

I think it is feasible, but probably not with a very heavy 1/5. I think a front-weighted stadium truck would work better. Maybe put some wings on it?
@rootar
I did not have any electronics in the truck except for servo and RX, so no I didn't.
