That's a nice-looking ESC. I wonder if it's going to be more expensive than the MMM?

It's also a lot smaller than the MMM. In electronics, small=expensive

Semi Pro 12.23.2008 11:14 PM

it will mostlikely be twice the price of the mmm, but you get what you pay for

I do like the option for sensored operation, and it has higher current-handling capabilities.

Its based on the rs series for 10th scale. There rs is already the price of a mamba monster and the rs pro is around $220 at most places. I would expect $250 of more for the esc.

Sensored... I guess that means sensored motors. Really looking forward to hearing more about the motors now. SHould be a nice setup.

The way I understand it it will be sensored on the startup, but switch over to sensorless afeter only a few motor turns. asically best of both worlds. Perfect sensored startups with sensorless countinuously adjusting timing for best power and efficiency. I know I'll be getting in on the preorder of one of these as soon as they are listed.

Mike!!! Get to the top of the list for these. Place your order now!!!!

At least an alternative. For info the RS can be used full sensorless as well. It should be the same for the RX8

I was starting to think this would be another vaporware project. Very glad it's announced/released. No matter what your brand loyalty, having choice is a good thing and having three big players in the 1/8th Electric game bodes very well for our class in 2009.

Ugg. It has a fan.

IMO, for the size and the few pictures, I wonder if it is truly rated 210A, or if that's a somewhat inflated spec?

glassdoctor 12.24.2008 11:56 AM

A while back... a little birdie told me that the price should actually be less than the RS, so let's wait before assuming it will be $$$$

I heard something similar from a big birdy. lol

And... the Rx8 will not likely have a pure sensored mode like the RS from what I hear. I believe the feeling is that sensorless is much better once the motor its spinning at all.

The Tekin RX8 is here!

I hope it runs as good as it looks!!!
They fixed two of the problems the MMM is having.
I really like the wire solder post. They are better then the plugs on the MMM. I also like they have the fan plug outside the case for easy replacement.:yipi:

It will be hard to beat the performance of the MMM V3 though.:whip:
