bad day / mmm died
Well was out in the yard today with my mmm combo powered e-revo and with the a elst2 powered by a castle hydro with a xlt4 nemesis.. First off the 14 pound lst beat my 10.5 pound e-revo. I was 38mph and it was 42mph. After the first battery my motor was 128*F and the nemesis was at 192*F.
So we put in a second set of batteries and we were off(after about 20+mins to wait for his motor to cool off) well about 3mins into the run my truck just stopped! I thought that my batteries might have tanked really quickly or something . So put the 3rd set of batteries in it and still the motor doesnt beep or anything when you turn it on:neutral: . The radio and steering works but nothing to the motor. Man this kills what I wanted to do over my christmas holiday! I hope repairs wont be 4 weeks. This stinks Sorry to start a thread about it but man I finally had a running rc truck and a few days off work. OH WELL |
does it still link?
|
No it will not link.
I went to pull the esc from the truck just a few mins ago after trying the link( I have it hot glued to the truck). When I did the case came open. Well, since its open I looked at the board there is a resistor missing off the bottom of it. I am looking in my living room to see where the resistor flung to when it opened. This day is getting better and better. Man this case needs a better design to hold it together. This is the second time it has opened. The first time it opened when I Jumped the truck on the first day I had it. |
cc should make a case out of g10 and put internal leds
|
Can you send it back to the hobby shop you got it from for a warranty exchange?
|
Just out of curiosity what version is this MMM?
Sorry to hear the run of bad luck man, I hope everything goes well for ya with warrenty and turnaround on it. |

Its a v3. It has the blue board.
I wish I could get my lhs to exchange one for me but they havent even gotten any yet. I think I am going to try to buy another mmm so I will have one for a spare. |
Well after my mmm quit I borrowed a friends bk esc and 10l feigao motor and it lasted one run and died. Just my luck. Come to find out it had issues before I got it. One of the fets weer burnt , so the guy was ok and said that he was expecting it to go any time now(just glad that wasnt me). The I took my plane out. Well you guessed it the venom esc went up in flames in mid flight(crashed and lost the plane and my flight power 3200 5s 30c lipo). The esc had issues from day one (a year ago) and no matter how much air was over it it would come down at no less that 160*F.(it was a 120amp esc and my eagle tree showed my max amp draw was only 52amps) That was a bad day. Should of gotten a castle!
Well, I ordered another mmm to get me going and it is running like a champ! Now I guess I need to send my other one off to get fixed now thats its after the holidays. I guess I will have a spare when this one comes back or I will build another project |
Yep...send it in. We'll get you fixed up.
|
Thanks joe, I will send it out first thing monday!
I just put my stock tires back on my e-revo and regeared(the plastic wheel hex on the losi rims stripped out, the set pin ripped threw the hex) Now thats power  ! and my e-revo is now running 44mph on 4s and still staying cool! Thanks again castle! mmm combo in the e-revo and a 120 hydro powering the lst2 http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...0picks/063.jpg |
I thought the LST2 was a big truck... :eyes:
My only concern is what kv the xlt motors actually are, as FD refuse to give any specifc details, only some 'on paper' wattage they can produce.... |
With a 4s lipo and the nemesis xlt4 it ran 42mph(stock gearing). Not bad saying the truck weighs in a 14 pounds. The motor get to 190*F by the end of the 5000mah 4s lipo. It stayed cooler when I had it as I didnt have any of the crap integy aluminum on it. It was only 12.8pounds then!
I am not a fan of finedesigns any more. He did me wrong too many times (the last time cost me $300) Though I did love the conversion. |
