battery problem

guys i got a battery problem. i bought 2 true rc batterys 2 weeks ago for my losi 8 buggy. 4s 14.8 4000mah.i was using a fegio 8xl motor greared 13- 46.
i ran the car for 2 packs, and temps were between 110 and 130 .does that sound to bad? but the next pack i ran may be for 5 min or less ,the battery started to smoke a little. check temps battery was about 150 to 160 OUCH!
i have my esc set a 12v lvc. then check each cell with my volt meter and oh no! first cell 3.7 second cell 1.50 third anf foruth cell 0.0 man that hurts my pocket.i have emailed true rc about this. the said i ran the battery to low or left it plug in to long and drained the battery.but i only ran it less than five min? i have the ecs setting at defalut at the moment. any help. thanks.
oh by the way i am using a hyperion charger eoso606i chargering them at
only 3.7amps .

130 is to hot even. I don't know the gear ratios for the rest of the buggy but 46/13 doesn't sound to ridiculous. You may have some binding somewhere. Any way you look at it though that battery is toast!

The 8xl draws huge spikes of current. I'm guessing those batteries, being 4000maH, weren't up to the task. What is the "C" rating on them? IE what is the maximum continuous current they can handle? If it's less than 20C, that is probably what caused the pack to fail- not that you drained it too far (the LVC protects that) but that it was "overdrawn". Overcurrent, even in short bursts, will do bad things to almost any battery.

Did you balance them when you got them, or during charging? It seems like the cells were not even when you ran them.

I have a 4s 5000 pack from True RC and it was a 10c that I had in a Rustler, I believe they also had a 15c

I agree with Whats Nitro, the Feigao can draw huge amounts of current and if the battery can't supply the current it will heat up and you can have cell damage (which is what it sounds like). 10 or 15C is not enough for a Feigao 8XL.
