Movie and pics of my plettenberg powered savage
here is the movie,
I finally finished my skidplate, new motorplate and battery mounts. Here you can see my new skidplate, i made it, because i had problems with keeping the center drivetrain clean. (if you look closely, you can also see my new project, 'wheeliebar') http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/1.JPG Because i wanted to get rid of the rear bumper, i made the hingepins so, that they are held in place by the skid, the hingepins for the upper plate are notched in and held in place with two M3 screws; http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/2.JPG here is how my new battery holder works; I made a plastic strip and placed it inside the heatshrink. There is velcro fastening that goes over that. http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/6.JPG Fits in perfectly in these new, low CG holders; http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/7.JPG Also made a new motorplate (needed a new one, because i sold my other motorplate with a savage to Froghn) I forgot to order the normal Nitro aluminium motorplate, so that's why i had to made the X, that's between the TVP's now.. Both are made from 10 mm thick aluminium i needed a new place to hold my 18.97, in my opinion i don't need a fan anymore, because of the mechanical brake, and i placed the 18.97 in the airflow of the plettenberg. http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/8.JPG And finally, i got an e-maxx, with 8 of these beautys on (ofna 9.5 shocks with piggybacks) using 4 on the savage, and 4 on my new e-maxx project http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/9.JPG The emaxx came with this body; (and the wheels mounted) RPM titan rimms with Proline Mulcher tires http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/0.JPG This is the thickest body i had had in hands; http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/4.JPG http://www.serum.demon.nl/NewBorn/5.JPG |
That truck rocks. What kind of run times are you getting with it?
And if the batteries die that dog is gonna catch and rip it to shreds too.:p |
Runtime about 12 minutes, with much highspeed runs and a mechanical brake (that also makes a difference in runtime, because the most controllers store the energy from braking in the batteries again)
|
That's a pretty good run time. Seeing that makes me want to buy a Savage and convert it to brushless. I'm already planning to buy an SS kit. Nice job on it.
|
Cool Movie, I like the dog chasing your Savage.
It's really powerful isn't it with the BigMaxximum! How many cells were you using in that video? |
It is running on 16 cells (perhaps i should give it a go on 18 cells, but this is fast enough for me allready)
|
Yes it is very fast and powerful as seen on your video! heh
|
nice looking truck, didnt watch the video though cause i am on dial up and it would take forever.
|
Vid
sweet looking video - you should post that on the vid page also - I am contemplating that maxximum - Nice job on the truck and vid - keep em coming...
|
I am thinking about selling the 18.97 and the bigmaxximum with the motormount and the batterieholders.
Anybody interested? |
That is an awesome truck. I have been planning on running a BL savage for a while now but it keeps getting put to the side so i can spoil my kids.
What are you asking for just the motor and controller? |
What is a fair price to you?
|
I'll take a fair price for the motor mount and batt holders? make me a good deal. I don't even have a savage yet. lol I do have a 18.97 in a e-maxx and love it.
