In Car Camera at Sids Raceway
 

After a brief absence from my T4, which I'm excited to own once again and in the excitement Ive re-released this clip. This short video was made two summers ago at Sids Raceway. Awesome track and great bunch of guys! The clip has three different camera angles; from the drivers stand, track-side and of course the In Car Camera. Normally the lap times are 35-40sec but this clip is about 1:20sec... Id like to blame the slow time on the editing BUT maybe I was just TOO slow!! First time driving RC after almost 18yrs! LOL... :oops: Enjoy!

Cool vid! Parts of the video seem to be "sped up"? I always like in-car views since you can see the suspension working. There was a video a while back where the camera was mounted up front facing the vehicle (backwards) and you could really see the suspension working.

lol. well it wasn't a mini cam, lol. I used a digital with some tie wraps on the back shock tower. The body didn't fit with the camera on it during the in car clips so I run two laps without the body and shot the rest of the trackside and drivers stand clips after. :mdr:

The only reason why I say that is because at ~33 sec things look a bit faster than normal. And a couple other places the dirt cloud seems to move a bit fast as well. Otherwise, the rest definitely looks real-time.

I saw that too at the 33 second mark- the thing seems to go into Benny Hill mode for just a second or two then its back to normal, probably just a glitch on the tape or with the final uploaded video.

Very cool to watch though, especially the jumps when everything stops bouncing up and down for just a second, then touch down and away it speeds again. :mdr:

That day was cloudy and the wind was pretty fast, it was going to rain. I did have the MM5700 w/87~20gears in there and the camera was positioned at the half way point in the turn thats where the speed comes from! Maybe it just confusing because of all the Hydro you guys play with!! :na:

Very nicely done. Good idea to combine different camera angles. I especially enjoyed the onboard view. Which camera did you use and how did you mount it?

i have to try this with my 1:8 truggy.

I used a small digital cannon, zip-tied to the rear shock tower.
In your 1/8 scale you will have more room to play with, should be easy for you to mount it somewhere.
