MMM - I like
I think the MMMs have become more stable & is showing thier true colours. I ran a V3 in my CR buggy & did 2 5 minute heats & a 20 minute main under hot & humid weather & it worked like a champ. In fact, I used this combo of 4S lipo, Neu 1512 2600KV to set the track record for the single fastest lap during qualifying. Towards the end of the race, one of the bolts at the ackerman came loose & I was steering with 1 wheel for 2 minutes. Had to use the throttle to help with steering by pumping & blipping. No mercy on the esc. It survived the torture & I still finished 6th overall (could have been 4th :whip:).
Also ran a MMM V2 in an X2 truggy & finished 3rd out of 12 in the main. Everyone else was running nitros. I ran 4 cars - 2 nitros, 2 electrics. My nitros placed much lower. Regards, Joe Ling |
Great Job! I'm glad to hear about someone else giving the nitros some hell:whip:

excuse the ignorance, but how does one know if their MMM is a V1,2 or 3?
Is it just the software which you upgrade through the Castle application? |
The V3 boxes are suposed to be marked V3.When I compare my V2 along side my V3 the V3 is slightly taller. The Mamba Monster Combo V3 has the power wires soldered to the board. The Castle link will update a V1 or a V2 with the latest firmware.I have 3.12 version firmware in my V2 and it works great.

Mmm V3
Not all V3 have soldered wires, some still have the bullet connector on the ESC but it is definetely has a taller case to give more room for the fan.

right. I have a combo on its way out to me. Am I right in assuming it's a V3 as it's in a combo pack?
