X1 CRT pinion size

I am about to place my order with the site and wanted suggestions on pinion sizes to run.... I have a X1 CRT pro that I am converting and it has the stock metal spur on it right now....

Thanks for the help... being new to brushless and to center diffs I am all messed up her...

Depends on spur, tires, motor and voltage...

What motor, batteries, and how fast do you need to go?

I have the same truck look at this tread http://http://www.rc-monster.com/for...ad.php?t=17637may be helpful I'm running a 13t pinion have an 18t that came with the Monster combo and will be buying a 15t, if running 5s though
13t is enough for most tracks.

14:62 is a good place to start with a 2200kv on 4S

Ok so my question is ... if I change out my front and rear diff pinions to 10t instead of the 13t can I then drop my spur to 44t???? or am I under thinking this???

Thanks in advance

Depending on what kind of speed you want, you could actually get away with going to the Kyosho 46T spur and not changing your diff pinions. A 10:46 with 13:43 diffs is almost identical to a 13:46 with 10:43 diffs. However, changing to 10:43 diffs will allow for more gearing options. Personally, I run the stock 13:43 diffs and the stock 62T spur. There really isn't a real good reason to change it from the 62T IMO.

Would I notice any gain in room for my v3 battery tray??? I measured and I might have just enough now to mount it the way I want, but have to ask anyway... :mdr:

George16 01.06.2009 10:57 AM

Where did you buy the battery from? Is it tekno's or RCM? ANyway, you should have enough room to mount it on the left side.

sweetride4me 01.06.2009 11:02 AM

tekno tray, zippy H 4s 5000mah lipo .... if that helps Lito... looks like I need about 2" clearence and I have just that.... so we will see this weekend when I try to mount it :oh:

George16 01.06.2009 11:04 AM

That should fit without any problems. Don't forget to post some pics of your conversion.

dirt101 01.06.2009 05:25 PM

heck I have a 6s 5000mah with the stock 62t spur. haha, its VERY tight but it works. I would start with a 14t or maybe a 13t if you would like to keep temps down but really it shouldnt be a problem with a 14t.

4s with the 2200k/v is about the same as 5s on my 1700k/v and I ran 13t on 5s for a long time and was happy with it.

big greg 01.06.2009 05:42 PM

yea i didnt like the 62t spur myself, it was ungodly loud, not to mention it was only a couple mm's from the wires, i put a 48t losi spur on there with a 10t pinion, for the 1y and the 62t use a 13t pinion
