1 or 2 servos in E-Maxx?
 

Looks like I need to get gears for my servos in the E-Maxx. I can get the new 2075 servo's for about $30 and gears for mine are like $3.50 each servo. is it worth going to one super servo and which one/how much for a 250oz plus servo. I'm thinking on staying TRX and just get new/better Revo servos because of cost but I'm open to suggestions.

I just bought the gear sets for my 2056's. I only did that because im to poor to buy a new servo.

It'll make quite a improvement in the way truck steers/drives if you upgrade to a 175+inoz strg servo (need to upgrade servo saver also). I think anything over 200 is overkill unless you're running bigger tires. I've made the swap with 2 Tmaxxes and an Emaxx and with stock tires/wheels 175inoz will take care of business.

WIth these 175+ servos, you really need a radio with epa - servos are strong enough to flex chassis if you don't have epa and the servos just torque the strg linkage for all they're worth. When I changed to 175inoz strg on my 1st Tmaxx when I still used rtr radio - I could see the engine head move when I turned wheels lock to lock.

Jr makes a 400oz servo that would be killer

u need EPA for any digital servo unless u want it to dies fairly quickly.
I got JR9000T in my maxx and cant be more happy. Actually i can with my JR9100T in mugen as it's even stronger :)
But with the recent JR servo price increase i would go for the new Airtronics 94780M with 423 oz of torque at 6V for like $30 less.

I am using the Hitech 5955 in my 10s Revo and here is a link to the improved version, they do make a buzzing noise which bothers some people but isnt a problem...it would be more servo than you would ever need

Those are 2076 servos and they are junk. I have one in my Maxx and its no better than stock. One 175+oz will be much better/more reliable than two of anything Traxxas has. This one is expensive but worth it:

Is it a new emaxx, the 3905 with the dual servos? If so contact traxxa and say you only have a few runs on it and they will send new servos...

As for the dual vs single debate. I prefer a single high torque, and jr servos like the 9000t, 9100t, or 8711 are my favorite. That being said I do run a pair of 3050 futaba metal gear digital servos in my 3905 maxx and have no bad things to say about them. As long as you set them up right they will not fight each other, but that does take a bit of time and skill.

Anyone know if any of the futaba metal gear servo gears will fit inside of the traxxas servos? They use a futaba spline, so the internal gears must be similar... I have a waterproof 2075 that I want metal gears in for crawling...

No. But the 2076 isn't a very high torqu servo. It doesn't have enough to self destruct.

I got my E-REVO the first week they came out, I have endless hours of use on it. Still running the stock dual steering servos. In the 2 years I've been in the hobby now the only servo I've ever had a problem with was the brake/throttle servo on my REVO 3.3, I replaced it with a stock piece once then went to a hitec and never had another problem

Didn't Futaba make the servos for Traxxas?

Pretty sure they did, I will have to take apart a metal gear futaba and see what will interchange. Metal gear sets are relatively cheap, as are 2070 traxxas servos. 125 oz/in is fine for a 1.9 crawler or steering on a basher buggy. Juice them up to 6.5+v with a ccbec and they will put out more:whistle:
