TCS question

hi,

i have a quick question to do with my hyperion duo charger. its about terminal capacity selection.

if you set the TCS to say 50%, will it charge the pack up to 50% from where it already is? so say each of my cells is 3.9v, will it charge it up 50% from there?
or will it charge 50% of the total pack, to would it actually drain the pack a little bit?
if your battery is fully charged, but you realise you cant run it for a while, could you set the TCS to 50% and charge your lipo, and it will actually discharge it by 50%?

thanks guys

Store mode is the only function that will charge or discharge in order to attain 60%.

I ran my 2S packs down to 7.1V yesterday, when I put them back on to do Store Mode the charger said they were at 15%, and when they reached 60% they were at between 7.5V and 7.7V.

TCS should only be used if you intend to use the pack soon after, and don't want a full charge- 90% to 95% would be the most common settings for people who want to shave off a few minutes charge time, but will only reduce runtime by 1- 1.5 minutes, and theoretically reduces some stress on the battery chemistry as well. That's my understanding at least. I'm still learning the Duo features myself.

i thought setting the TCS to 50-60% was "store mode". is there an actual store mode setting?

thanks

when you first press enter to start charging it sats charge start/solo mode if you press down you go into store mode. There is no adjustable setting for it though, it is 60%

so it is pretty much the same as setting the TCS to 60% then?

if my batteries are fully charged but i cannot run them, could i use the TCS, set at 60% (or store mode), to DISCHARGE my lipos to a save storing voltage?

is 3.7v the best storing voltage? could 3.8~3.9v also be ok?

many many thanks

TCS is an up-charge function only, not discharge. If you have an older Duo without Store Mode, then you can certainly use TCS to get your packs _UP_ to 60%.

My FlightPower packs say to store them at 3.4 per cell, which is lower than the Duo puts them at roughly 3.8, so I'd say anything between 3.4 and 3.8 would be fine.
