http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...2&I=LXTHR4&P=K for the mechanical brakes

and

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...2&I=LXTHR8&P=K for the steering

Doesn't seem that overkill... However I am using a 7955tg to steer my hyper st.

George16 01.06.2009 08:14 AM

Same here. It's not overkill. I'm also using a 5955TG for steering on my ST-RR.

I got JR z9100T (370oz) for steering in my MBX5-T and still would not call it overkill

BL_RV0 01.06.2009 10:44 AM

Nope. Go for it! If you don't want to spend that much money, check out the HS-5645 and HS-5625 servos.

5955tg in my buggy...

There is no such thing as "overkill" in this business.

I have a JR z9100t in my buggy and a JR ds8711 in my truggy.

To me "overkill" just means less likely to break. :mdr:

I got my 5955tg for a lot less tha that new off of ebay. You may want to look at those.

drkros3 01.09.2009 03:37 AM

i use a 94773 for steerings (193 torque / .10 speed) and 94758 (115 torque / .06 speed) in my rc8.

Some people say it's overkill, I don't think they realize the rewards of "overkill". It is a piece of mind, one thing less to worry about, and basically a lack of options. We've put the servo with the lowest torque we had in there. Not going to go out and buy something lower or cheaper. Now that would be a a waste of money when there are perfectly good 300oz servos sitting on the bench not being used. We all know when they say. "That's overkill." They really are saying "Shit, wish I had that."

Piece of mind, baby!

SpEEdyBL 01.09.2009 08:42 PM

My definition of overkill is that it could cause something else to fail. So by my definition of overkill, if it doesn't break the steering linkage, you're ok. Though having said that I use a $25 futaba 3010 servo thats about 90oz/in of torque and it gets by fine.
