My Maxx Kicks Your Maxx's Ass Build
This is my 3906 E-Maxx build. It is based off the stock 3906 chassis, with a Medusa 36-80 Afterburner v2 2200Kv motor. That motor is about as overkill as it gets for a stock chassis based 3906, which is exactly why this build is called the "My Maxx Kicks Your Maxx's Ass" Build.
Since my Maxx already has tons of upgrade parts, I will start the build with some pictures and a description of my Maxx in its stock form, and then go down the timeline with the upgrades, until I get to it's current form and I will update from there. So enjoy the build! Disclaimer about the title... ~~~Yes I know the title of this build is totally not true, as there are trucks in the G-Maxx thread that are some of the most amazing Maxx's I have ever seen, but it sounded cool and gets peoples attention! :na:~~~ (I will have pics up of the very first upgrades that my Maxx ever received in just a bit.) |
Looking forward to pics!

Red rag to a bull, is that title, but its gets peoples attention for the wrong reasons really- nothing wrong with titling the thread 'my maxx- before and after' etc etc.
Im affraid we'll have to cut off one of your fingers if it doesnt turn out half decent by our standards...  |

It started like this, 100% stock with Tekno RC wingmount added
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...wlin/Maxx1.jpg Then it got a custom skidplate, the very first custom part for it and the very first "upgrade" for it. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...in/Maxx2-1.jpg |
The next treatment was some custom "dual rate" springs
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...in/Maxx3-1.jpg Then it got a "scale" touch, a hitch bumper made with extra parts from a Tamiya Clodbuster kit. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...wlin/Maxx7.jpg |
My next and first true durability upgrade was GH Racing aluminum bulkheads and front, center, and rear CVD's
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...in/Maxx4-1.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...in/Maxx5-1.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...wlin/Maxx6.jpg |
"my mom can out-bitch your mom" sadly, it's probably true... and my maxx (T!) will smoke urs right now...65mph in 2.2seconds...

"Your maxx is my maxxes ass in the grass cuz its so damn fast, then you came in last!"

Then I thought my servo was a bit unprotected, so I got an aluminum cover for it.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...wlin/Maxx8.jpg Then my steering components seemed a bit weak, so I upgraded my steering to a GH Racing full aluminum steering setup. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...lin/Maxx10.jpg Then on to some chassis rigidity upgrades. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...lin/Maxx11.jpg Next on the bill was the shocks, replaced with Traxxas Big Bores. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...wlin/Maxx9.jpg |
Keep the pics coming!

Then it stayed in about that form for a while, but I wasn't getting great performance out of the stock tires, so I bought some white 40 series Wabash wheels and Proline Crimefighters, and dyed the wheels black. (I would like to thank the user "jordan..." for the idea of dying the wabash wheels black. I saw that he did that with his in his G-Maxx thread and I thought it looked so good I had to try it as well.)
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...CN15700017.jpg Then I got a new body, a Proline HardDrive for the Maxx, and an OFNA Hi-Downforce wing (black). http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...CN15960001.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...CN16010003.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...CN16030004.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...CN16080007.jpg |
