glitching with mmm combo
 

Hey guys, I recently put a mmm combo in my e-revo and I am having some problems with glitching when the truck is about 75 feet away. It runs smooth as buttter when it is within 75 feet of me but when I drive it a little ways down the street, it stutters. I am guessing this is not cogging because it runs so smooth when it is close to the transmitter. I have the RX antenna coming straight out of the top of the receiver box. I shortened the motor wires as short as I can and have them still reach the ESC and it does it no matter what my gearing is. My setup is:

MMM combo
Spektrum DX2.0
2 Zippy 3s1p 20-30c 5000mah in series
21/65 gearing

Do you guys think I need a better TX/RX? I was thinking about buying a DX3R but I don't want to have the same problems with that system. Thanks for any imput.

yeah do the above or just braid them, FYI i have the DX3S and have had flawless running with it. Its an excellent bit of kit

Well I twisted the motor leads with no luck so I tried braiding them and that did it. No more glitching. I can drive my truck until I can barely see it. Thanks guys

what do the motor wires have anything to do with radio glitching?

they create an electrical "noise" that interferes with the rx. it usually comes out with higher power brushless setups. my mx-3 fm radio worked with my emaxx hv6.5 on 16.8v, but then my mmm medusa 18.5 volts did not work for shat

oh right i see. i have a spektrum DX3 (the first generation one) and the MMM combo. whenever the revo gets to about 100m or more away from me, the radio looses signal and i have to move nearer. what could be done with the wires that would help this? i dont really want to cut them, so should i just try and make sure they are as far away from the receiver as possible?

Glad it has worked for you. i would recommend eventually changing to a 2.4ghz as you definatly wont regret it.

Thats the problem with the revo, is that no matter where you put the motor its always away next to the RX box, i would A) make sure your motor is mounted with the wires facing away from the RX box, B) also just braid the motor cables, it does work. C) check that your atenna hasnt got any damage to it.

I have a dx2.0. I tried it again today and it works perfectly. I was just considering a DX3R. I think I'll stick with the TX I have for now. I only have 2 RC's.
