LIpo's in a clodbuster

I need some quick help here, I'm building a clod for bashing with a Thundertech frame, it has 2 17t double motors (brushed) and I want to run a lipo but Im not sure what to run. Ive been told that if I use a brushed motor to use a 7.4v pack, brushless use 11.1v. Suggestions? Thanks!

not true. The voltage depends on ESC, and how fast u want the item. it also depends upon the motor too a lil bit.

You wouldn't want to use any higher than 7.4v, otherwise you will be doing constant motor maintenance!

Throw a set of titan's or permax 600's in that puppy, allong with 2 4s2p pack's in parralel. That's 14,8 volt's.

cool, i dont thinkg the extra .4v would screw it up. i dont know if titats would be a good rock crawling motor....

Thanks guys! Im not building a crawler, just a basher but I dont want a straight line speed freak just something mild fast. I was wondering about the amperage to, 12c or 20c or?

The discharge rate ("C") depends on the capacity of the pack. What are you looking at?

Trust me that titan set-up on 14,8 volt's is giving you the same speed's as a stock emaxx. My friend has one on 14 cell's I think and it is sick fast. Pretty uncontrolable too.

Oh thought that was the amperage or something, does the discharge rate make any diff? Would think 2 motors would draw alot so dont wanna have a flaming clod rolling down the track!

what kind of esc? are you running like a evx or 2 independant systems?

Savage03 12.15.2005 10:49 PM

Evx.....

squeeforever 12.15.2005 10:59 PM

i would go with something around 60 amps continuous.

MetalMan 12.15.2005 11:15 PM

You wouldn't need that much. 40amps cont. should be enough for a Clodbuster that won't be breaking any speed records.
