Question about the Tekno Battery Tray?
For those of you who are using the Tekno battery tray, other than the straps, what are you using to lock down you batteries?
After damaging a few 6S lipos from nosing in on landings from jumps, I realized that I needed to velcro the battery to the tray as well. Anyone finding they need to do more? |
Alternative: Stop nose-diving.
Seriously, are the straps letting go or what? I've never had a pack fly out (well, maybe once or twice when hitting a wall head on at ~50) when properly velcroed in place. |
I made two slots going perpendicular to the length of the trays, for velcro straps to fit through. The velcro straps I'm using are similar to what Tekno sells, but I made them to save myself money . Granted my Savage is using 2 Tekno trays, each with a Rhino 4s 3700mah pack (8s is what the ESC sees...).

Check to make sure you are pulling on the straps enough to lock down your pack. I have yet to damage a 6S pack and I don't use velcro on the bottom.

I use this, just too tough to come loose.

i have 3 tekno setups and i was brand new to RC when i had my first two. i flipped the shi* out of my cars, i mean i am talking stuff to put XXX Main videos to shame and i have never had one come loose even. you must not be cinching the straps down tight enough. and if that is the case, velcro on the bottom of the pack wont help anyway. that kind of force from a nose dive will still throw it out if it isnt buckled down super tight with the 3 tekno straps. try it again and see what happens. but this time make sure they are damn tight.
also, does your pack fit inside the tray? or do you have a pack that is longer than the tray? if this is the case i would recommend you shave down one end of the tray so your pack will sit flush with the tray. if you have your pack sitting on top of the end wall because it is too long then this could be the cause also. |
