G3 Race Suspension

I have been looking at this. It looks very nice but is a bit on the pricey side. When comparing it to the Integy suspension the Integy package is cheaper and you get 4 steering blocks and 2 turnbuckles that you dont get with the G3 race suspension. What makes the G3 better for the money? I am a big fan of gmaxx but want to get the best product for the money.

Thanks

Excellent question! For a true racer, weight, specifically unsprung weight is always a hot topic. The G-maxx G3 suspension is the lightest aluminum suspension available to my knowledge. This alone is a tremendous factor (a few ounces lighter than the Integy!). The unique shock tower (very low profile) and lever shock mount use leverage to assist dampening, which allows use of lighter oil and even allows use of 4 shocks much more effectively than the Integy suspension. Another weight advantage! Both suspensions are good. Even great. The Integy is heavier and less expensive. The G3 is a premium, lightweight race suspension with a unique design that works. If you are on a budget, the Integy gets the job done extremely well. For the money, there is no better suspension IMHO. If you simply want the lightest, best race suspension available, I say GO GORILLA!

Wow that is some great info. I have always wondered the same thing. I love my gmaxx chassis and cant wait to get the gmaxx suspension.

supermaxx4190 12.26.2004 07:53 PM

hey mike,

so the integy is not a better suspension setup than the gmaxx? i have heard alot of people saying that the integy is weak and will break. i would think the integy is better due to the h hub in the back. so the gmaxx is better than integy if you dont care about money? i guess i might get the gmaxx insted then. what makes the gmaxx better than rpm arms that im running now?

The G3 three is the lightest, lowest CG aluminum suspension to my knowledge. "better" is a matter of opinion. The Integy is the best for the money of any suspension that I can think of. The G-maxx is for the weight conscious racer looking to minimize unsprung weight and maximize handling. The Integy's offset knuckles and "h-hub" rear certainly make for a nice handling truck., while the "lever" technology and low cg of the G3 handle nice as well. Basically, you can't go wrong with either IMHO.

I gotta agree with mike on this one - cant go wrong with either one - 4me - its integy....

Walt,
The G3 prototype was on my t-maxx at the R.O.A.R. Connecticut regional race. How did it handle? I know you didn't drive it, but you pitted for me and saw it drive.

I though I'd add a recent photo I received from a gentleman in the UK. He's working on a T-Maxx project truck using the G3.
The image shows the front suspension with a sway link set-up from Full-force. I'm not sure you need the sway bar with this suspension but doesn't it look vicious

RC-Monster Mike 01.24.2005 11:47 PM

That is a sweet lookin ride! I have to try to get some pictures from a few of my customers. I don't think that sway bar would work very well, but it sure looks cool! i don't think the maxx needs a sway bar at all with the G3 suspension.

rc4x4nut 01.25.2005 01:06 AM

That is beautiful. Cant wait to get my suspension soon.

HotnCold 01.25.2005 07:10 AM

Man - thats a sweet looking T - it will almost be a shame to run it and get it dirty - ha ha ha

I am close to being done with my GMAXX conversion. Right now I am in the process of installing the G3 suspension. I hope to have everything done in the next few weeks. Just need to find the time when the kids arent climbing all over me. lol I will post pics in the gallery when I am done.

I am looking forward to seeing yours when it is complete, Frank. I can envision it already (I know what parts are on it!), but there is nothing like a shiny new truck! I have to find a way to RC-Monster engraved on somethig for you.

MaxxFusion 01.25.2005 11:20 AM

Yep. I will take a ton of pic before spring because after that this thing will never be clean again. Bling Bling. I just got my aluminum rims yesterday so this thing will be fully aluminum.
