Starting a Swift 2 brushless conversion
Hi, i am in the process of converting my nanda racing swift 2 1/8 buggy (don't laugh!) to brushless. What motor/esc/battery/pinion configuration would you recommend? If it helps, i would like to go at least as fast as the buggy was when it was stock nitro so around 50mph, the wheel diameter is 33cm and my buggy will weigh about 3kg when completed.
Thanks. |
i will also be designing/making my own motor mount and center diff plate to match the motor/esc
|
just so you know the stock probably went around 37, but anyways I would go with the caslte neu 2200k/v combo, a zippy 5000mah 4s lipo, and for gearing you can use this
|
ok thanks, what would you recommend as the max amount of teeth i could get away with on the pinion with the standard 46T spur without the motor overheating?
|
Use the gearing calculator in that link- just enter your diff ratios and tire sizes etc, then find a pinion that gives you ~40mph with your 46t spur.
What heck is a Swift 2 1/8 buggy anyway- pics/ link required. |
I want to see these 33cm diameter wheels! Did you mean circumference?

and thats the buggy alright one company makes the chassis then they are redaged by about 3 resellers |
yes sorry i meant 33cm circumference and yeh it is that buggy. I've had it about 3 years. Thanks for all your replys, i'll post pics etc up of the whole build once its complete.
|
I would gear for about 38mph. My truck is geared for 42, and its just a little faster than I would like it.
that buggy looks sweet...I love the purple and carbon look. |
yeh it is a very nice buggy to look at. After much deliberation i'm going to go with the 2650kv monster combo! i can't wait!

here's some pictures:
