Need help finding specific lipos
I am trying to find some decent 3s lipos but my crt.5 has limited space. Ideally, I'd like at least 3.5Ah @ 20-25C, be no longer than 140mm maximum (up to 143mm max if I don't use foam), and no thicker than 25mm max.
And I'm not even thinking of using MA, even though a 3s 5Ah pack would fit perfectly. The price is just too high. Mike doesn't seem to have anything that fits these requirements. I'm sure his new 2.5Ah cells would be more than able to handle the current load, but runtime is too short. I did find a couple packs at HC: - Polyquest 3s 3.7Ah 25C 143mmX22.5mmX48mm. $130. - Zippy H 3s 3.3Ah 20C 143mmX19mmX45mm. $42, but a little low on the constant current rating. I'm sure I could get the PQ packs from Mike, but want to see if there are any other ideas/suggestions... |
How about a pack of these Brian:
http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/mai...an=ELT&cat=E30 If you scroll down, there's an Elite 3300mah 3S 30C pack. It's within your space constraints, has plenty of discharge capability, and a good price too. Only thing is that capacity is a tad lower than what you say you want, but just thought I'd throw the idea in there. They're meant to be excellent cells from what I've heard.:great: |

Lol! Sorry, beat ya to it...

That elite pack looks good. Yeah, 3300mAh is a tad bit low, but for that price, I can get two. Besides, it's not much lower than my min of 3700 - that number was really just a value I arbitrarily picked to get a good discharge rating at 25C.

Cheap battery packs is a great store, very good service. Just made an order for shrink and taps. I get all of my pack supplies from them.

Thunder Power has a 30C 3300mAh 3S that is due out soon. It's 136mm x 44mm x 22mm and $109.99 from rclipos.com.

Well, I placed my order for two Elite 30C 3300mAh 3s packs (lot's of "3's" in there). The "ideal" C is 25, but I don;t think I'll be running at 84A, much less at 99A (30C). It's just nice to know that voltage will drop less under the load it will be subjected to. 135mmX45mmX20mm should fit really well.
And being 6.5oz, should keep the crt.5 nice and light. Maybe I won't need to replace the shocks with something different after all. These will also be used in my old e-jato and a another current project I'm working on. Thanks guys! Thanks everyone! |

I'm sure they'll work fine. I never had any problems with my MA 5Ah packs, so I don't anticipate any issues here either since I'm not pushing anything...

Brian - did you get these yet? I'm looking at the 35C 2S packs - they have them on sale for 88 a piece. I was waiting for Mike to get some of his new ones in a 2S or 3S config, but it doesnt look like that's going to happen any time soon. I'd be interested to know how they compare to mike packs that you tried.
